ripstanley
Those two early umpiring decisions have not helped Fremantle. NOt sure wither penalty was there let alone even a 50/50 Also a couple of holding the man without the ball calls that could have been paid against Hawthorn defenders.. Still..Freo have fluffed 3 kicks at goals they could have had.... Comes back to Freo and thei rability to kick goals I aggree the umpires have made very bad decision for both teams. I tipped the Hawks.

Good game though. Hope the Eagles can have a better run, come tomorrow night.

Popular Post Will27
Can anyone else see Freo slipping next year? I'd be susrprised if the big Pavlova and McPharlin went on. They really need a power forward. They've still got a jet midfield so will still be hard to beat at home, but it wouldn't surprise me to see them finish outside of the top 4. I thought the Hawks were there to be over-run but they just couldn't kick enough sausages. I know the Hawks were accurate but 10 goals was ever going to beat them.

Popular Post BookMan
I hope the Umpires do not have an early bearing on the game, unlike last night. Hawthorn were the overwhelming beneficiaries of the umpires largesse last night. Although the penalty count ended up fairly even, it was quality not quantity that counted A few things have me worried for the GF, based on last night. Hawthorns sneaky deliberate out of bounds. Hawks defenders holding the man who doesn't have the ball. At least 3 of these could have been given to Freo Refusal of Umps to pay holding the ball against Hawthorn at either end of the ground Puoplo gave away a clear 50 metre penalty when he ran in from the side and about 3 meters over the mark. Why wasn't it called?

Why wasn't it called? Its the worst year in a long time for bad decisions changing games. Even the umpires are not stupid and know Freo wasn't going to kick a lot of goals with their style. So to give that kick and fifty against Ballantyne early in the game was terrible,i also thought they were going to clamp down on staging. Its seems to me all the umpires are concerned about is blocking in a contest and giving a guy a millisecond to get rid of the ball before the gracious holding the ball signal which i'm sure they all cream themselves over when watching the reply the following day.

Plus a couple of unsavoury spectator incidents on the boundary line. Another boundary line issue I believe is becoming a problem and a player will be injured soon is the totally unnecessary pushing of a player towards the fence. We have seen it become the norm this year and it seems pointless and dangerous. The player is not always expecting it, and with momentum and a ball in hand, is it merely a matter of time until a player conks his head or neck on the corner of a chair or the boundary fence....imagine a supporters flag pole inadvertently having been stuck over the fence... I hope from next year it is clamped down on before a player is seriously injured
