I agree but that is what you get when you go to the counter with your GBP in your sweaty hand, incidentally that is also the rate that Thai IO use to calculate your pension in Baht at least it is in Surin IO

I thought would use this.

risen 1% from 39.1 to 39.5 in less than 24 hours for some reason.
exciting this farang husband lark.
never has a graph been so interesting to watch.
Raab knocked out. Markets not too keen on the uncertainty of a loon PM running around threatening to suspend Parliament. BJ still a negative but that was somewhat already in the price. Market bounce on any news seen as leaning away from no-deal

Well this is the USD. Big drop last night after rates held and most pricing in for a cut later.

Actually helped the pound against the baht a bit.

Yeah did notice because I check here every now and again https://themoneyconverter.com/GBP/THB.aspx

yesterday 39.22 something this morning 39.44  just has moved again 39.39.

If it were true it would imply not only an open rift between the IMF and the ECB, but would be jumped on by Trump.

IMF & ECB is not something to take notice of much, 2007/8 e.g.

My goodbye to UK.

Sold up, relieved and having said my goodbyes.

Asia here I come to be free from those ties.

Farewell grey England, it’s been a long chore.

Can't stay or want to live here anymore.

I'm tired and weary of what you've become.

For me to stay much longer would be a beating drum.  Works been hard and long you’re not my friend.

My battle with you is over this is the end.

Your green pastures are no more I’ll leave you alone.

You can shut the door l'm going home.

Even then grab that !

Reminds me of all the renters telling people over the years they were nuts to buy property here - how silly do you feel !

That would presume that whatever property you have is easy to sell? If it isn't then any currency premium is largely irrelevant.

Thai Baht is the problem. Of course the pound has his own trouble due to the brexit but the Baht is growing up against all western currencies for a while and it seems not to want to stop.  I wonder why no one take action against that? That is right?  Is that everything ok for the thai central bank and for  thai  authorities too? They have the power to stop and to reverse it. Why don't they do it? Apparently  for some dark reason of which it's not given us to know, it is ok for them

They are staring to talk about it. But in a rather muffled way so far.

Just passing on the rate, 38.77, I got with TransferWise yesterday lunchtime.

My guess is that it will head even lower.

Probably, especially if Carney keeps talking it down.

Transferwise are currently offering 38.32 on 10,000 GBP (38.18 on 1,000)...

Sigh, looks like it will be money from my Singapore account again this quarter (Though that's down to 22.37 for s$10,000 SGD, I don't think I've ever had to transfer or change in country below 23.00)

Thai Baht really is strong at the moment ????

Smaller nations have limited financial fire power to reverse a currency trend.

Fantastic post. The absolute state of these Brexiteers telling people to believe in this thing that is making them substantially poorer
When someone is justifying shooting themselves and others in the foot in the interests of a higher cause then you know you are dealing with a cult. If there is the risk that said cult (no-deal Brexit) might be running the show in the not too distant future then best take evasive action re currency if able. If not able then will get dragged down, unwilling or otherwise.
