A relationship shouldn’t be about money.

My relationships involve an old guy banging a young woman, and that involves payment.

Hey, but if you're happy enough banging a saggy old bag, go for it.

That’s not a relationship ????. That’s a business man.

Tbh will probably do the same once I’m old if I’m single ????

It seems talking about how much money people "earn" is not unusual with Thais. Taxi drivers asked me how much I earn and I ask them how much they earn. I asked several Thais in different jobs and it seems for most of them it's normal to talk about that. I never had a reaction like: How dare you ask.

And about your cooking and cleaning and whatever. A maid cost 300B a day, that's almost 40B per hour. You can figure out yourself how much value your home work has.

Best answer I think...I drive a taxi!

If you think the ladies in USA don’t compare material things and money you are living in Disneyland.  Same all over the world. So many guys boast they pay their lady nothing blah blah blah. You think that makes you look morally better and I will not change your mind but you cannot see the forest from the trees. IMO the best cheapest costing women are in Thailand and I love them all.

Haha too late for me with my kid but i can relate with britmantoo ,he says it like it is

I can't get over the amount of foreigners with partners 20 years their junior who still believe it all about love

If only they could except that they have entered into a contract, that provides them with companionship in their remaining years, they might not be so angry at the world

A win win on both sides (as long as they drip feed the money)

I do know of circumstances where it has worked and a lot on here where it hasn't (mainly down to stupidity)

Nobody wants to know if you cook, ride a bicycle, or work on your car(s).

It just doesn't matter because that's not of interest, you're paying for a product and they only want to know how much you're worth.

By telling them that you do that all by yourself, you're not doing yourself a favor.

Best of luck with your long distance love. Why don't you come to see her at a time without telling her that? Then you'll understand a bit more.

unfortunately majority of girls i meet, don’t care about your interest, only about your value in money..... so exceptions exsist: i meet thai girl which doesn’t take money of me, but she time to time goes get “work” something i bang her while she chat with boyfriend from germany ( whos send money regularly for her ) ???? don't be one of them.... get for what You pay and forget till next trip.... loads of cracking looking thai girls from industry have few remote boyfriends!!!

Some of the very good operators can even "generate" more monthly INCOME that way - than what  their Farang Boyfriends earn in their respective Jobs....
I met a nice girl in a minivan. She had 4 farung boyfriends but she had lost one so she gave me her number because she had a vacancy.

Funny as heck. Nobody ruined it for me. I found a wife, married her, and let her buy a house and car... Nobody asks how much I give her, and nobody asks why my credit card has her name on it when I pay for stuff either.

I also do the washing and housework, and her mother approves of that aspect because it's better I bring up my son than Thai.

I would most or all comments are helpful and accurate.  In short: foreigners are exactly as you described, we are ATM's to them that's it.  Nothing more!  Don't get dissillusioned by romance of a younger girl, save your money, rent it, don't buy it.  However, we are all on a path through life, no one knows for sure what is your destiny anymore than we know ours.  So take all comments as advice, things to keep in mind as experience to apply as the times arises.  Until then, be careful.  So people how you expect to be treated.  Don't let people use you unless you want it that way.  good luck.

I had a girlfriend, and of course, like everybody, anywhere, I paid sometimes for things for her.

I married her and I got 25% more pension.

I give her these 25%, and don't pay anything anymore for her.

We are all different, and nothing wrong with that.

I do my way, don't expect others do the same.

However I don't expect that others tell me how I should do.

Of course I am open to an opinion.

Just slow down a little. You didn't 'hit a nerve' and your insinuation not appreciated,  in fact my Thai wife, sadly departed was a doctor of medicine and an orthopedic specialist.

My comment was not directed at anybody in particular and very straight forward and quite obvious - why do so many posters instantly assume bar girls are involved.

If you have achieved big things in your life good on you.

It is the same if your gfs a prostitute.

I live in Pattaya, and I know quite a few bar girls that you so kindly refer to as "prostitutes" Almost all of them are single mums, and many try to manage their extended families back in Issan. The Thais that ask how much you send to your girl friend probably want to find out if there's a chance that Thai ladies share their income with their extended families.

You better talk with your girl friend about her family background (be honest about your own family background), and then leave all financial details in Thailand up to her. She might not be interested in causing envy among her peers.

There's all kinds of jobs in the Chonburi area (the Eastern Economic Corridor) now. Salaries for industrial workers 8,000-10,000 THB per month (twice as much for academics)  Your girlfriend will know best how much it takes for her family members to immigrate from Issan. So, leave it up to her what to tell people.

OP should notice that we (the pensioners and veterans that changed sides) did not come here to make Thailand a comfort zone or recreation area for coming U.S. generations.

During the Ayutthaya period of Thailand’s history – from 1351 to 1767 you will find there was a legal code governing part time wives for visiting sailors, from there to Khlong Toei District Mosquito bar.  Pattaya was never a sanctioned R&R location that was Bangkok.

It has become fashionable to blame the Vietnam war for many things but prostitution is not a charge that will stick.  Australia (KIngs Cross) was also an R&R site with prostitution as was Hawaii.  Might want to get your facts straight.   Pattaya took off as sin city after the Vietnam war was over and the Americans out of Thailand.  95% of prostitution is Thai on Thai and does not involve any Farangs so your story is wrong on many fronts.

This seems to be a common question most asked by Thai prostitutes. I never heard this questioned asked by elder Thais or those not involved in shady dealings with foreigners. Personally i do not see an issue if your Thai wife or partner is currently not working, taking care of the parents who are old or ill or the grand children . But it passes into the stupidity level when you are out of country and sending them more than a common Thai makes in a month. When i hear bar girls bragging about my SUCKER gives me 20,000 baht a month or more when he is here or not. The only thing i can think of while i am hearing this is. Where did MR. Foreign SUCKER find you ? What girly bar, massage shop, or street corner.

I do not understand why everyone bickering about bar girls. I start wondering that most of the TV members have experience with bar girls, and also have one, since the experience most of all is about bar girls in every f tread. Every question about culture, girls and money, ends up on bickering about bar girls.

My experience is, they are no worse than any other woman seeking foreigners. Same same but different. When you start dating a bar girl, you know, but when you start dating someone who claim to be different, you have no clue, before the shit hits the fan. Surprise ????

No more than any other woman seeking foreigners ? I guess you do not get out much. My partner never had anything to do with the bars. The most likely reason bar girls are discussed is they have a long history of scamming foreigners. So ALL Thai women and their families want your money? Again you don,t get out much.

Oh, trust me I have travelled , and enough time in Thailand, Asia, Europe, South America, and Usa. Girls who seek out foreigners do have an agenda! Well, I can not speak about yours, she might be different! Mine is ok, but I guess we all think our is different? What I say, something happend on the way, therefor they choose falang, so they have a motivation for doing do.
