Life in Thailand is boring, I need some adventure!

I need to get outta here man, my boredom level is peaking right now. I'm starting to feel like Holden Caulfield in catcher in the rye. everything i see is annoying me. everyone I meet is grinding me down and my day to day life is about as exciting as a night in bkk. I'm slowly drinking myself to death here out of sheer boredom. Last night a girl came and sat next to me and asked to go back with me for 4,000 for the night??? 4,000!!!! I remember when it was 400. What happened???

I'm still thinking about going to Cebu on a tourist visa after going back to the states for a while. Ive been researching the phils more and more and it seems that its got a lot to offer the bored western guy looking for adventure.

seriously, my daily life here consists of waking up, drinking coffee, going online then going to the bar to meet with the same boring people everyday. Sometimes I just ring the bell to liven things up a bit, everyone seems miserable and look like they are about to die.

I gotta get out man, before it's too late.

I been all over bro. I'm over it.

I need something new.

I used to love it here but since 2014 I can't really say that I have enjoyed myself at all.

It is probably more you than Thailand but, hey, there is nothing wrong with a new adventure.  It sounds a little like you just want some new cheaper hookers, and to be honest, I am not sure that is really going to change your present state of mind.  Still a change of scenery might put things in perspective.  Doesn't really matter where you go, the important thing is to get yourself out of this funk.

OK - good.....

Always good to learn something.....You might learn, as many have, that the grass isn't always greener & come back....

Or, you might find "heaven" someplace else - until you also feel disenchanted there.....

Thailand is diverse....But, if what you do is habitually the same, you'll just be in the same boat - different ocean.....

Might as well do something about it & find out.....

It doesn't seem like you've truely embraced Thailand - some never do, or ever can.....

Walk up Doi Luang Chiang Dao. No roads, no cable car. Just you and Thailand's second highest mountain. Then when you have done that. Walk down again. Sell your stuff and leave Thailand.

Good bye. New Zealand is nice this time of year.

Go quickly, don’t have the boring life.

Good luck in Africa.

That is incorrect... You pay to be able to walk away...... That my friend is very very different !

The negativity in that response says it all mate. Geography won't help your problem, or so it seems.

If you’re bored in Thailand, that’s on you. You’re most likely a boring person with unrealistic expectations. I haven’t been bored since I moved here 6 years ago.

"The thought of love makes me feel sick" sounds like you're emotionally bankrupt man. Are you having dreams of serial murder?

Actually, these days the ladyboys are getting paid more than the ladies.

OP - Maybe join the protestors in Hong Kong? That looks like excitement.

... probaly just a matter of travelling even firther... from phuket!

do the KMs, and do the meters  - up...    wat Phu Tok for example

guraantreed you could at least spend a whole of one day up there!

image.jpeg.ccf394948d39720cac379e968e2619c4.jpeg

But there might be places closer to home for you? the one, below, might not necessarily  be exciting in  itself... but the drive there, through Southern terrorist country certainly could take away any thoughts of boredom!! - what about Wat Tham Khao Rup Chang??   that's that temple where all the intersting assets fill the caves in the Mount behind.

only concern for you might be that a night of personal p2p fun, even 25 years ago, costed 2000 in Padang besar/Cowboy town nearby!

Been there myself, can say worth it. At that time we met some old grandma on her 70s who also climbed all the way to the top. If she can do it anyone can do it ????
