Just highlights the total incompetence of the PM could not even read a document given to him to swear the oath.I don't think he is smart enough to have deliberatley left out important parts of the oath, probably has POTUS syndrohme cannot read more than one line without losing his train of thought.

Begs the question whether the oath was redacted. Conspiracy theory aplenty.

  • Got to catch them all awake first ! ????????????

  • As his governing coalition is falling apart before his eyes, he won’t need to resign... his govt is on the way out.

  • Of course he wont resign, he thinks he is invincible. So he didnt take the oath correctly, probably done it on purpose. Both little p and Ole Fatty are an absolute disgrace, only interested

I would have to disagree, the 1% who control 66% of the countries wealth is more than 1 captain. The course is well planned! Full steam ahead!

I think they control a bit more than that.

There was no incompetence.

Is not reading the oath like putting your hand behind your back with your fingers crossed.

Nothing you say or do is official and binding.

When put in the context that Prayut led the unlawful overthrow of the previous elected government in violation of the constitutional article to Protect the Constitution, his omission was deliberate.

Prayut currently has no immunity escape clause in the 2017 Constitution as he did in the 2014 Interim Charter with the NCPO now dissolved.

Consider how Prayut might create a new coup.

  • Prayut gets a no-confidence vote in the House.
  • As per the Constitution, the House is dissolved and new national election is scheduled within 60 days.
  • Prayut and Cabinet remain under Caretaker status as per the Constitution.
  • Senate remains in place of the House.
  • Prayut delays elections indefinitely.
  • Prayut ignores limitations of caretaker status (as he did prior to the March 2019 elections)
  • Prayut's Cabinet effectively becomes a pseudo-NCPO with Prayut as its chief.
  • Writes a new constitution with immunity clause.
  • Appoints a new House
  • Thailand government regresses back to 2014.

As a foreigner living in Thailand, I can't believe the hatred I've heard from Working Thais against General Prayut and his psychophant. Water prices UP, Electric costs UP, Petrol UP, Food costs UP, Wages DOWN (or no jobs),

Crime UP, Tourism DOWN, Immigration CHAOS. Question: Who pays for all the fancy uniforms (thousands) seen at exhibitions daily on TV. I guess the construction worker, baht bus driver, housewife just has to steal to feed their children.

Reminiscent to an old book that's title ends in a 4?

Ideally, both of them will resign. With those economic challenges ahead, Thailand can no longer afford to be ruled by a bunch of clowns without any applicable qualifications. Being too dumb to recite an oath or too lazy/unhealthy/old to show up on time and stay awake during important proceedings is just the tip of the iceberg.

What he said about this mistake does provide some possible clues.

“ It will be settled soon because I had no intention of doing it wrongly. Let’s focus on the intention”.

Clearly it was deliberate and an outcome will eventuate. What will it be is the million dollar question.

Yes that sour dough must leave a very bad taste in his mouth.

Bit confused did he apologise or not?

I think you are missing the point. He was not too dumb to recite the oath, he just didn't want to as the Grand Scheme Of Things in Thailand in 2019 is yet to be settled between Thailand's influential players.

"Thailand can can no longer afford to be ruled by a bunch of clowns without any applicable qualifications"?

The battle rages on to ensure that it does. And ensure the farmers and working class continue to kowtow to them and their interests....

Prayut will remain in power until the next military removes him.

Resign? After going to such great lengths to appoint himself Dick Tater for life?

Thanks for that knee slapper.
