Pattaya: Go Go dancers go to police claiming their "foreign" boss has not paid them

Cut long story short, when i sold my biz, new owner did not pay ALL staff. All staff went to police station. All police could do was file police report and nothing else.

 

Staff went to immigration and after 40 min meeting, immigration told them to go to labor office and after there is a judgement, can come back to them.

 

When i did not pay staff(had good reasons not to pay and a number of times) some went to police and police told them to go to labor office. One time, police came around and i told them staff had to go to labor office, to which they agreed and left.

 

However, in this case, it is little different as both parties are involved in illegal activities. Keep in mind dancers earn over tax free threshold and do not pay taxes, no doubt no social security is paid either.

 

This can get messy, depending who is "looking" after the bar, but again we only know one side of the story, other side may have different version.

i imagine they will leave the place and many others may take their place in there.many bars will  then be getting new staff but not at that pay rate i imagine.the parents would have being ringing up where is my money you promised us.did the restaurant not pay you this mth.they chose the job no one forced them and the extras help them alot. this is thailand and the way it is in the bar world.owners thai or farang will all try to do  those tricks to the staff.the landlords also do the same and raise the rent to get them out and put new people in with the new rent rise.so many bars i know in cm have had this problem and moved because of this issue.

It's an unskilled job, they don't have specific qualifications - that I can mention ????, & if they don't like their 'terms & conditions' then they ought to get a proper job.

As you said poor qualifications for much else in some cases.

Mind you, sense of rhythm and music and ability to stay flexible, people pay personal trainers to remain fit and flexible.

Umm hotel workers, know many people and a diversity of friends, some many be sex workers,(sometimes they have the same clients) and they share professional stories, when they socialise or network
