Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, centre, was mocked by a woman during his visit to a market when she started singing a song, “We will fulfill our promises", a military song aired during Prayut’s first term as prime minister after the 2014 coup.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha was mocked by a woman during his visit to a market when she started singing a song, “We will fulfill our promises", a military song aired during Prayut’s first term as prime minister after the 2014 coup.

Prayut and his aides on Friday noon (November 22) toured Wanglang market, near Siriraj Hospital. Some people showed their support for the PM by taking photographs with him, shaking hands and hugging him.

One lady, however, taunted the premier by singing sarcastically the song, “We will fulfill our promises”. The song was written and aired after the 2014 coup. The lines of the song conveyed that military rule would not be for the long-term. However, after promises to hold elections were broken by the junta government several times, many people used to sing that song when they wanted to mock the junta government, which ruled until the general election in March this year.

Many still view the current coalition-led government as military rule in disguise after the junta-appointed senators voted for Prayut as prime minister.

They don’t view it. They know it. Everyone knows it. It’s just some pretend it isn’t.

yes is a shame, you got pay them and put on free food to protest even for freedom and democracy here .

Prayut worst thing happen in thailand in last 30yrs . By time he finished it be a little china but lower class poverty of n-korea .

Just amazing hardly any reaction to the vote tally scandal nor rapid legal cases against FFP .

Junta showed it's hand fully yet everyone sits around watching tv or eating somtam while poverty and poor education beckons for next generations .

I see Buck Banana (Prayut) like his glasses in public, trying to resemble the late true k of K's I guess . Must be turning in his grave observing the lies and disregard this government unfolded on the children of thailand .

This is the truth. The Thais absolutely deserve the government they have as well as all the kneeling and kowtowing they have to do, na krupt.

A very brave woman-presumably her name and address were noted so that the authorities can have a friendly chat with her in the not too distant future.

They relish the opportunity to interact with individuals on such an amicable level...

Good on her, taking the <deleted> at Plaayoot and all the silly promises he made. Taunting is the very least that this ... ehh... wonderful.. PM deserves.

Nah. He is a nasty little oik who thinks he is far cleverer than he actually is, but he is a symptom of the disease, not the disease itself. The next generation of hungry usurpers will flick him away like a dead fly when needs must.

Duh....I wonder what would give them that impression????

Prayut did an expensive facelift recently, but not so much success with women.

Well they never had true democracy anyway to start with. Bowing to the wind is sometimes the best approach, sooner or later the wind dies down and the bamboo springs up again, no damage done. The people can protest and smash up the infrastructure and suffer their loved ones being shot on the street and what does it bring ? Another 'new' government full of promise and enthusiasm, 6 months later the swamp returns and you are back to square one. You can have a wonderful constitution and still have a lousy government, Russia, the USA and the UK come to mind at the moment, they are just a little more subtle in their approach, velvet on the outside and thorns on the inside, woe to him who tries to bore down through the velvet.
