Chalerm Yubamrung

Chalerm Yubamrung, a core member of Pheu Thai party, made a statement today (December 17) that the opposition is considering tabling a motion of no-confidence against the government on January 6-10, 2020.

Four ministers will be targeted in the no-confidence debate: Prime Minister Prayat Chan-o-cha, Deputy Prime Minister Visanu Krua-ngam, Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Don Pramudwinai.

“We have prepared the data, but shame, I can’t participate,” Chalerm said.

He continued that the opposition had allowed the current government carrying on long enough and had seen many mistakes.

Topics slated for the debate include:

1.The current government is deemed as the most corrupt administration, using the Senate and the National Legislative Assembly as tools of dominance, with many National Legislative Assembly members becoming senators.

2. Failing to solve economic problems as seen in rising poverty.

3. Bullying increasing numbers of activists and people against the government.

4. Failing to rein in drug abuses.

5. Condoning wrongdoings by individuals from the government party, such as MP Pareena Kraikupt’s alleged encroachment of 46 rai of land in a protected forest area.

wow I thought he was disappeared - maybe soon lol

The current government needs to be challenged daily.  By the time cha cha is done, there will be no Thailand left.  The 1% will own the country outright.

Could they not find a better spokesperson?

If only he could participate, he would have the whole government gone within one week, according to him.

And you don't think that was the Thaksin plan?

Chalerm - Mr. Pink Rolls Royce himself!

too bad it grows back

Sounds to me as though every man & his dog is jumping on the "Bring this government down" bandwagon.

Jolly good. ????

Chalerm is the perfect guy to put their noses near some poo.

Nice summation but keep in mind he'll sway quickly if there's the smell of any 'benefit'.

It just depresses me to see this really unethical and unprofessional figure from the past poking his head above the parapet again.

It is by comparison with people like this that THANATHORN comes across as a ray of fresh and real hope in this land, a man of principle, honour, GENUINE democratic conviction, and integrity (at least, so far as we can see at this early juncture!).

  • 2 weeks later...

Last time I read, the opposition were planning to debate a government censure motion on 18th and 19th December. A quick squiz of TV Thailand News from around that time doesn't indicate it happened and a similar google search simply shows all the talk about doing it from the preceding months.

Did it ever happen or was it side-showed or sidelined by more important matters?
