Get Rid of That Pop-up

That "newsletter" pop-up is appearing every time I change pages. No more than once per visit is acceptable, and then only for a day or two.

I'm with you on this one allane. Can't think of a better way to turn off posters.

If it's from the same web designers as the classified section, it could take up to six months to fix. By the way, great fix on the classifieds! ????

Cannot say I have ever seen it, but I am using Firefox with the required addons to make TV bearable.

If it’s the “Read next story” one it’s coming up every 6 seconds at the moment on my iPad. Surely something wrong there.

If you try & visit without logging in you will see it

Correct.
But since I'm using Waterfox Classic (a fork of Firefox which still supports the old school NSAPI plugins) with the "right" plugins, I was able to eliminate the annoying popup as well as the layer which is placed other the complete page.
Sorry, but the boards superstrict censorship rules don't allow me to post more detailed information.

Thats if you can get past the myriad of popups, running processes slowing the TV page loading, pages not fully loading, the hanging of the android phone requiring and quit and restart the web browser app, clicking on an article and having certain background pages suddenly loading and take over the whole page require it to be closed before getting to the article one wanted to view.

All this started about a week ago.

Just sent a complaint to support forum. Didn't see this thread till now. Just started for me 1-2 days ago.

Trusty stopwatch says ~30sec load time vs ~5sec load time with accessory.

600% increase in wait time without accessory.

I heard it was the much talked about and criticized CCA team????

People do not want the pop up to appear at all.

Anybody who is intetested in recieving the newsletter will subscribe.

Those who prefer to not recieve the newsletter will not be inclined to sign up due to seeing the pop up. In fact they are likely to view the pop up as an inconvenience and refrain from using the site and search out other forums

Pop up and autoplay music, sounds, , god sake, this is to much

Most annoying thing in the world if you are not signed in! Part of being owned full out by the Nation I presume. Just another reason to start looking for other sites not affiliated and bombarding you with target advertising etc.

I interact on TVF mostly on my desktop. My peeve is with what I call a slide-in that started a month or so ago. Every time I change to a new page, this "pop up-like-thing" slides-in in the lower right corner, often blocking my reading content. It occupies 20% of my screen height and about 30% of the width. To extinguish it, I have to find a little, light grey "X" which is often so difficult and time consuming to find that I've had to attach a sticky note on the frame of my computer screen showing me where it is so that I can more quickly delete the slide-in/pop up. I do this about 100 times each day, yes, one hundred times.

Whoever (I don't know) is responsible for putting it there thinks I am stupid!  I say that because the advertisement that it high-lights is one of the same advertisements that is always on the right hand side of my screen anyway, consuming 25% of the real estate space and slowing all activity down.

If I read TVF on my iPhone, I'm forced to delete a drop-down and slide-up for every new thread. What they are advertising, I have no idea. I would never patronize the concept by reading these annoying ads.

As a businessman, I fully support and understand revenue streams. But this is OTT (and bottom).

I had the same problem. I tried everything I could think of, then I had a friend suggest I clean out the cookies on my system. Since then I have not had 1 popup.

On android and on a plain old chrome web browser today, at the moment impossible to click on anything on TV. There is a semi transparent overlay and the TV web page is stuck behind that. Really?????

Only way I can access this web site is with uBlock Origin, otherwise I'd be long gone.

Really...Does this website have adverts then?

There are dark mystical means you know!

Hello All

Apologies, we messed up with this.

The good news is, the pop up has now been removed.

If you are still unable to access the site properly, please try clearing the cache from your web browser.

If you are unsure how to do that, you can find more info here:

Thank you for patience and apologies again.

Getting rid of the Connect App and connecting to Thaivisa via Tapatalk was a big mistake in my view.

Both apps were very user friendly and didn’t have the bombardment of ads we see on the web browser version .

Am on firefox, no pop ups or advertising that I can see.
