Normal people rarely refer to themselves using a foreign racist slur.

Farang is a generic Thai word for person of white race no matter where they may come from; the Americas, Europe, etc.

Is google wrong?  Is farang a racist term?

I meet a lot of "normal" people at my condo complex.  Lobby has several couches where owners hang out, the pool area, the shuttle, our resident minimart has tables and chairs outside where people meet also.

Have met 2 other Americans, a couple of Canadians, a few Swedes, a Norwegian, several Brits, a Scot, a Kiwi, a couple of fine Russian ladies, a German, a Dutchman, have enjoyed conversations with all several times over the last 6 months.

Still debating whether the word 'farang' is derogatory.

Is that normal?

Yes, am going off topic, that is "normal" for me.  ✌️

I'm saying we shouldn't refer to ourselves by our skin colour, using a foreign word, because we know better.

Got it now...just took me longer than "normal" (trying to stay on-topic now) ✌️

Normal means, ordinary, usual, typical. If you cannot decide think about the opposite of normal, abnormal, are you abnormal? and if so why do you think you are abnormal?.
