Featured Replies

What's going on? Thought it would be cheaper.

World gone mad. No dunny paper, stock markets down, high flight prices. Over a 3500 death flu. Imagine if ww3 started.

  • Checked some return flight to Frankfurt in March. No high prices, very reasonable. Significantly cheaper than in high season. Emirates dumping for about 17000 which is really cheap for this

Yep. It seems the airlines are just cancelling flights rather than discounting

I heard people say domestic flights with the low-cost carriers have tanked.

Took a look as I'm thinking of a beach break, and all the prices seem normal.

How can they discount when they do not have enough pax to pay for the fuel?  The are not only cancelling flights but downsizing staff.

Just looked at booking a round trip flight to the US at the end of the year, and what normally would have been a 55,000 to 65,000 baht ticket is now over 100,000 baht.  Now I am not sure the holidays are a factor as I have done this trip many years in a row, going back prior to Thanksgiving and returning after new years.

and all Fuels are sooo cheap now...

I've received a couple of ads from Air Asia for domestic flights within Thailand - all with biggish discounts.

But I'm not planning to fly anywhere till June ... maybe no flights at all by then.

Agree, and in other words, discounting not likely to get more bums in seats, they just don't want to travel.

Booked a flight to oz a month ago 3k

Same flight 10 days out 9k already

Flights leaving in next few days 22k and only 30 % seats taken

Checked

But the baht still at 20.8 to the Aussie scholar!  I want more of my money here so I can buy gold and silver. I only have little faith in Thai banks but absolutely none in Australian banks since the bar-sted government changed the rules and allowed bail-in.  Those politician's in Crapberra are more anti-Australian (citizen) than some of the neanderthals they have allowed into the country in the last decade or so.

Emirates dumping for about 17000 which is really cheap for this route.

But not sure whether this is related to the virus downturn.

Lufthansa plans to smash 50% of it's flights, grounding all their A380 and sent some staff home for one month.

Just checked CNX-LAX-CNX and prices are the same as always, EVA Air 3200-3500 USD business class.

Is it possible that some people really believe that only travel offices can get you a cheap flight?

Checking Air Asia isn't expensive at all. Flights from 592 baht to 1, 072 are available. Please see screenshot:

I've "booked" just for the sake of checking and could have taken a return ticket for 1, 180 baht, tax included.

Similar for Thai Smile domestic (BKK - KKC).

1000 Baht oneway all incl. during March.

BTW: if one lists prices to overseas it would be good to know whether eco or business and what currency .

(one post looked irrational in Baht :whistling:)

Came out Friday with Eva Air, normally full. This time less than half. Return cancelled until following day so they are taking action by cutting flights not reducing fares.

Same route as me this month but basically told me I was on the day after as the Monday was cancelled. Fortunately it didn’t inconvenience too much.

If you booked a flight and it was cancelled by the airline due to the Covid-19 Country restrictions, how likely would they give a full refund? Anyone know?

I believe airasiax are doing flights for us$115 to places like japan, oz, korea etc.

Now im not sure on this, perhaps someone with more interest can check. But was told that price was for unlimited travel for a year.

Not sure what on TV tonight but best US based estimate for deaths in the next several years are in the millions from what I have read.  Not Armageddon but a really serious pandemic.

Look again another day.

Recently I looked up some international flights. When I first checked I was surprised about the low prices.

Then I checked again a few days later and the same flights (with a slightly different date) were a LOT more expensive.

And then a day or two later they were somewhere in the middle of the first two.

I don't know how typical that is but it happens so better check again.
