If they had a spacing of 2 Meters between them, the queue would be all the way to Pattyya  beach......:coffee1:

So they would have to reopen the beach again.

They have no intention of making things easier for Farang; everything they say is just Lip Service !

One queue for all or is there some attempt to separate the 90-day people from those wanting to extend tourist permissions to stay, etc?

I have to do a 90-day report pretty soon so I'm hoping that things will ease off in the next few days - otherwise I may well give it a miss and just pay the 2000 Baht next time.  Probably safer that way.

Online reporting doesn't work for me so that's not an option.

Yes, they do separate the lines by type of "service" required. As an example, I was "in the mob" when I went in with my documents to extend my retirement visa last Thursday. When I went back to pick up my stamped passport at 3 PM next day, I walked in, and an Imm worker came up and took my ticket. I waited, all alone, behind a white line. He returned with my passport in about 30 seconds, and, after checking the photo against my temporarily unmasked face, he handed it to me. ... ONE SMALL STEP FOR IMMIGRATION! Otherwise, I agree with all of the strongly critical posts in this thread!

It will take a few deaths of Immigration workers before they stop this nonsense

just a kind of self defense for those  inside ( and good thing for them) , bringing passport to you …..but even when you benefit from it …. don't think even a moment it was consideration for you  farang ….

Everyone in these lines needs to start coughing the second they walk into the immigration office.

So no photo taken anymore.

You forget where you are...'The Land of Zero Common Sense' !

Crazy all that ... but no mask on a foreigner, a 20k fine was proposed ... makes sense ;-(

The solution,as arrived at by surrounding countries, takes as long to get to in minutes as the IQ of a typical government official....so about FIVE.

I passed a queue of hundreds in chiang saen waiting in line a foot apart to get free food

He would have done that the day before

I wonder who all these ppl are though? Are these all still tourists who decided to stay longer?

These long queues are there since almost 2 weeks now ...

The local expats with their extensions and 90 day are always there ... never creating that massive line.

Flights also have been offered by many countries since 2 weeks now to get their ppl back home.

So what is "exactly" causing that influx in greater detail?

Meanwhile in the Philippines, a decidedly poorer nation...they are warning Foreigners NOT to come to immigration and that there will be no fees or fines assessed except 30 days AFTER the emergency quarantine is lifted. Humanity over Money!

Here it would make too much sense but not enough baht if they did that. SMH

Anybody getting the message yet?

If most of the tourists have gone home, who are all these people going to immigration every day. Surely it’s not like this normally so why is it so busy now?

That's what I just wondered.

Would be interesting to see a break down of the individual cases and circumstances.

Surely the Germans & Dutch etc. had a huge operation to get their ppl back in specially arranged flights, the UK also last week ...

Masses of ppl since 2 weeks at immigration?

A week ago or so TAT said it was 20000 Russians stranded in Thailand, and I don't doubt TAT on this, at Jomtien Beach 2:30 PM there was a lot of falangs congregating and swimming, maybe they needed to cool down after hours in the immigration line ?

One hell of things being in a very, very long pipeline,These people won't forget this, the old buisness addage comes to mind do a good job and the customer may tell 1/2 people,do a bad job they may tell10/20, this will come back and bite tourism on the butt, but as they only now seem to want chinese, i spose they don't care.

Has anybody tried calling 1337 (Pattaya City Hall), making a complaint about this fiasco, and asking them to pass it on to the Mayor's office so he can take corrective action? If every person who's posted here called City Hall to protest they might take some notice. But if just one person calls them, they'll ignore it.

Last time my wife tried that number there was no answer.....for several hours............

An easy fix that can be reviewed monthly as the situation unfolds.

Automatic 90 day extension for all on current permission to stay stamp..

No need to attend immigration for anything, no overstay fines, no 90 day reports or tm30, stops the risk for staff and victims clients.

Just a common sense solution as everyone and their friendly soi dog has suggested for the last month or so.!

The staff members at the Immigration Offices around the Country must be S^^^^*G themselves.

Having to deal with Hundreds of hot, irate people every day, must be a real worry to those with Children specially.

When are their Boss,s going to see reason, and common sense in order to protect these members of their Staff from possible contamination in these potential hotbed places for Covid19.

Its only a short period of time away before the Immigration Offices will be unable to function at all due to an increased level of " sick " leave being taken by Staff trying to protect themselves and their families, as well as those who may contract the Virus

Sorry but anyone going to an immigration office to do a 90 day report, is a fool. All you need to do is fill in the form and mail it to them. Everyone can manage to do that.

If they waived the visa for 3 months I'd be happy to come back to immigration later and pay for any fees. I can't fathom why they won't just take our money if that's all it's about.

The only people who have said that money is what it's all about are the usual wildly speculating Thaivisa (and similar) posters.

Someone in the news media industry should make an active effort to get these pics and videos to media outside Thailand to give global visibility to how Thailand is handling this.

This is absolutely disgraceful! Are these immigration officials retarded or what? Making people queue like this is criminal given social distancing requirements! I would rather pay overstay than subject myself to this BS!

but your not even in Thailand ...   you live outside.

I guess many people from all over the northern hemisphere added who come to spend winter here. Having the situation, maybe they thibonbetter of queue once a month than travel in full plane to a country where contagion situation might not be any better.

Does not make it any less disgraceful for Thai government though.
