China's blame game doesn't solve anything.

I'm quite disgusted at what is currently going on in China and the dangerous fake news they are currently propagating.

China seems to think it's perfectly acceptable to fabricate stories about Covid and put them out to the public as fact.

This pandemic originated in China.

That is the truth.

Do a bit of research into coronaviruses and you will learn how they transmit from animal to humans very easily once conditions are ripe.

The reason it spreads easily in countries like China is because of their severe lack of food and animal hygiene.

All they care about is profit.

Understandable due to the conditions they used to live in but they must take responsibility for what they have bestowed upon the world.

Blaming others for their own mishaps does not solve anything.

This kind of thing will happen again and again without proper state intervention and being forced to maintain adequate safety regulations.

All these conspiracy theories flying around about the US planting the virus in chinese markets are abhorrent and dangerous.

the chinese government should be ashamed of themselves for allowing it to happen.

I have a few friends living in China as teachers and they all tell me the amount of racism and xenophobia they are experiencing now is shocking.

it's like they started the virus!

That is a consequence of state run propaganda to deflect the issue of who is really responsible.

Also the knock on affect this is having around the world is also turning deadly.

Look at the stigma in india, Thailand, europe and elsewhere.

China should be made to compensate countries that have been severely affected by this virus.

Man up guys, you caused this now stop spreading your false information and do the right thing.

Of course it is troubling, as the rumors about the dirty foreigner bringing the virus to Thailand has also been spread by someone who has been muzzled apparently, but the repercussions have been observed, hopefully they will not gain more traction. However, each and everyday is different....be safe and Happy Easter holiday to those that celebrate it.

Why they will compensate Wetern countries who are repsonsible for this panedmic due to incompetacies of their leaders and arrogancies of their people as they mostly suffer from Dunning-Kruger syndrome. What about South Korea, Taiwan, and to some extent Signapore and Japan who could contain it but no Western countries now want compensation for their leaders incompetancies and their people like Tom (truck driver), Dick (plumber), and Harry (brick layer)'s arrogancies as Tom, Dick and Harry keep on flaunting restrictions like wearing masks, avoid gatherings, going to condo swiming pool, not obeying social distancing, drinking beer in groups and on and on and on it went all night.

Plenty of options there.

Just for the record I am NOT blaming China for this.

All medical personnel and the scientific community agree it originated in China.

I don't care who is responsible for when these kind of catastrophes take place.

But I do care when the blame is systematically shifted onto others without taking responsibility for ones own actions.

That to me is reprehensible and needs to be addressed.

So we shall be doomed to suffer the same fate time and time again due to this very reason.

It's so sad, Charlie.

Humanity will never progress if we never learn from our mistakes.

Whats right, is not always convenient or acceptable, but it should be.

Dont forget that age old "losing face" that is paramount to Asian cultures would be another mitigating factor in the lack of admission to anything.

Tom Dick and Harry should have ORDERED to wear mouthmasks by Quintin, Floris and Charles!

Made to pay and learning from mistakes are not the same, although often confused in the west.

Do you expect anything different from China's propaganda machine?

I have friends who are teaching over there, the xenophobia is terrible, one friend, fluent in Mandarin, travelled from the North to the South to start a new job, he got stuck in Changsha, he couldn't get a hotel and spent the night on a park bench. All the western licensed hotels were either closed or not willing to take dirty foreigners (even though he hasn't left China for the past 3 months)

About two weeks ago colleagues of mine started to report that 8-9 year old kids had been telling them that the Covid virus didn't start in China, luckily that hasn't happened to me yet.

Did they?

"coerced WHO into their web of deceit"

Did they?

"Reparations are due and maybe some kind of international trial for mass manslaughter"

Also want to go after Trump, Johnson and quite a few others for inaction when it was clear on all fronts there was more to it than just a flu?

Why???

3000 (allegedly died) out of 1.4 billion

That's a death rate of 0.000002142857

No country goes into crisis mode on those lies!

Never allowed any foreign assistance either , just lies and more lies

Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Don't know. You stated your opinions, I presume these are based on facts? I queried for those facts, but received more opinions, not facts. So where are the facts?

Did the people who started the WW 1 & 2 pay compensation, let alone the other wars that destroyed countries and their innocent people?

Yes, we are doomed forever and will be blaming each other without putting our own backyard together. Yes, it is indeed a shameful thing.

This is absolutely crucial to the problem.

Lies upon lies never creates a solution.

Only more and more problems that the rest of the world has to mop up after.

WHO and the UN must address this and impose sanctions wherever possible.

Do you remember the days before the internet when nobody was responsible for the spread of the flu and it was just accepted as a normal thing that happened?

Some people need to blame.

Rather than accepting their own failures and reflecting on what lessons may be applied for better outcomes in future similar circumstances.

Can the UK learn from this ?

Can American learn from this?

Can Italy learn from it?

Can Australia learn from it?

Can Thailand learn from it?

If the answer is a resounding yes, then the next question is :

What lessons have we learned?

Then

How do we improve the situation and future proof the country and the people.?

Time for some light reading on your part.  Yes War reparations were put in place, but in the end caused more damage.

Not their "dna".  Communism / kleptocracy govts are not heritable.  If freedom were on the table, China could become several great nations, or a federalized-system which provides significant local-control to the ethnic-groups trapped within the current imperial system.

If the WHO had listened to Taiwan -  instead of pretending Taiwan didn't exist - the truth would have come out much sooner, and country-bans would have helped contain the spread of the virus, allowing time for treatments to be developed before widespread world-wide infection occurred (if it occurred at all).  Doctors in Taiwan were not restrained by the CCPs threats issued against anyone in China speaking-out.

One perspective, is that if the disease had only affected China, that would put them at an economic disadvantage.  It was much better, from that perspective, if the whole world was infected.  Was that considered?  Who knows.

Sure, that's why they imposed a lockdown on 28 January.
