For that sort of money I suppose means an oldish ride. The most reliable ride mechanically, I reckon, is a Toyota.

15 years ago my wife got a chevy optra , she really looks after it ,serviced every 6k ,new parts if required , drives like a new car ,its done 170,000 k. looks about 3 years old ,only goes to show if you take great care of a car it lasts for years. she loves it and doesnt want a new car . its worth about 100,000,if it was in Britain ,about 20k if you were lucky and it had a new mot ????

Be careful the new Everest and Ranger Ford.

Have problem with the auto gear. Expansive fix it. Can not fix well.

Expensive for who, the owner or the dealer, if the owner why is not covered by warranty ?

Those cars are not particularly reliable and are out of the OP's price range...????

The black one with a blower would certainly be fun though !!

Oh no their not.......Toyota is streets ahead in the mechanical longevity department..Why do you think Toyota is worth more than any car manufacturer....? History of reliability...

Must agree with you there transam, I ve had both Camrys and Accords.  The Hondas are excellent too, my current Accord is IMO nicer looking and more refined interior, plus  a better performer.

That's about 3 yrs Kms on it ????

A little bit over average but certainly feasible, I average 1000km a week.

Brand loyalty... Marketing...

Mechanical longevity is only as good as electronic longevity these days.

Most common brands are as reliable as each other.

Nope, I don't own a Toyota. Toyota is streets ahead in the "engineering" department.

Now I am staying on topic, the OP wants a cheap ride, I am telling him my opinion on a cheap ride that will be more reliable than the rest with AGE....????

Facebook marketplace is a good place to look and get information on prices & availability of second hand cars in the area of your choice.

As with all second hand purchases its buyer beware & make sure you either do your homework or know & trust someone who will assist you.

Yes, the most rain, the least population, 80% land is forest, most nature.

Rain last 4+ nights, cool, cloudy today. Rain season start now. Not have last 4 month.

Kao Lak (north Phangnga, close to here, same) have tourism a lot in high season, but low season very low because foreign not like the rain. Sept-November have rain everyday2-5 pm.

I am “forest” person. Love nature, animal, clean air, ocean. So Ranong number 1 for me. I hate Bangkok, make me sick, depression.

Everyone Ranong “3 degree separation”, know each other. 191,000 population. IMO, make people behave well. Respect. Not want embarrassing the family. Help together a lot, not selfish people. (No covid)

Only annoying is far. If want shopping, good hospital, must go Phuket. Boring that road so much, but now is good road more than 5 year ago.

For foreigner I recommend Khok Khoi- Thai Mueang Phangnga.

is still nature, close Phuket, phuket airport go 35 minute AND is the other side of the mountain= half the rain Kao Lak and Ranong.

I have cousin /friend there. Stay there when I go Phuket.

Good place.

Why not just pass on to the next post that you fancy?

Your getting **ssed off and what you consider idiot posts, wouldn't interest any others either.

Take a warm shower and relax...

Yep,   i took a left turn and found myself asking Yinn about weather in Ranong area.

As you say,  her answer was more interesting than the topic and its never ending answers

to a simple question.  I did continue with PM so as not to completely hijack this fascinating topic.

So ,  what do you think?   What is the correct size for a pancake ?

Just forwarded what I was told by my friend, maybe it was a timing belt? I don't know.

Nothing else is nonsense, you really are a bit of cynic. But thank you ever so much for correcting that mistake.

Asked said friend about this - Garage receipt was written in Thai my friend is in his 70s not engineering minded, the mechanic showed him the old belt, easy mistake I d have thought.

Am fairly certain they have a timing chain. I'd say the worn belt shown was likely an ancillary belt.

See if you can get a pic of the receipt and upload for peeps here to interpret it.

Thanks mate but I m not interested in providing any thing by way of, or to support or substantiate what is what, to people I don't give a &@$* about. No disrespect you, I ve googled it and it's detailed as both a belt and chain.  Cheers.

Yes I am a very rude and aggressive man with people who say I talking "nonsense" as was the case earlier, not with you, but a previous poster.
I also said to thank you, and no disrespect, to yourself.  That was to separate you from those who I aimed my rude reply at.
I am not the owner nor seller, this too I clearly stated 3-4 times.  They can discuss all of this matter and what shade of black is the carpet in the boot with my mate up in KK.  Just simply ask for the contact details as I ve also stated.

Thank you very much.

for that amount of money you can get relatively new milewise Suzuki Carry pickup truck, I've seen people discount them to under 100k baht on Facebook lately. (might be useful on the farm too!)

if it's a car she needs, definitely can find something around that price but haven't checked so will leave that to others
