Accident Rescue in Central Pattaya as Air-Con Technician Falls from 5th Floor

A rescue operation unfolded in central Pattaya on the afternoon of 23 May, when an air-conditioning technician fell from the fifth floor of a commercial building and became trapped on a balcony one floor below. The incident occurred at around 13:00 on Soi Buakhao. Emergency services from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Foundation rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a man who had fallen from a building under renovation. The victim, identified as Mr Thepphitak Waimat 41, was conducting maintenance work on an air-conditioning unit on the fifth-floor balcony when he is believed to have lost consciousness and fallen. In a stroke of luck, his fall was broken by the fourth-floor balcony, preventing him from plummeting to the ground. Due to the ongoing work, there was no internal access to the casualty. Rescue workers assessed the situation and quickly deployed a rope-rescue team and rappelled from the fifth floor to reach the injured man, who was precariously stuck on the narrow ledge. The complex operation took over an hour, with rescuers finally securing him in a rescue stretcher and lowering him to the third-floor balcony, from where he was safely evacuated. Mr Thepphitak sustained a serious head injury and was reported to be in critical condition due to significant blood loss. He was immediately transported to Pattaya Pattamnakorn Hospital, where medical teams are closely monitoring his condition. Further investigations are underway. Crime Cyber Police Dismantle Online Gambling Syndicate

The operation involved a network of individuals across Thailand, including a key suspect apprehended at Suvarnabhumi Airport while attempting to flee to Hong Kong. The Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) conducted a series of raids on 23 May, targeting properties in Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, and Bangkok. The operation led to the arrest of five individuals, including a 27-year-old woman from Ang Thong who managed the website’s financial accounts. Authorities seized assets valued at over 7 million baht, including cash, Chinese currency, property titles, and electronic devices. The gambling website had been operational since 2020, with monthly transactions exceeding 10 million baht. The syndicate employed various tactics to evade law enforcement, such as using satellite internet connections and relocating operations to neighbouring countries. Despite these efforts, the government has intensified its crackdown on illegal online activities, leading to a significant decrease in reported cybercrimes. Authorities are continuing their investigation to identify and apprehend remaining members of the syndicate, both domestically and internationally. Citizens are encouraged to report any information related to online gambling activities via the 1441 Cyber Crime Hotline. This operation underscores Thailand’s commitment to combating cybercrime and illegal online gambling, aiming to protect the public from associated risks and ensure a safer digital environment. Mixed thoughts, and I guess it depends how it's instituted. If voluntary by the pedophile to avoid long prison sentence, then I don't think the doc would have moral standard issue. They really should raise the punishment for pedophiles, to life in prison, no parole. Honest pedophiles are always on record, stating they can't be cured of the urge. Does the chemical castration even work. Would not testosterone treatment simply negate to process. Life in prison ... why take the chance of having them walking among our children.
