Included in this hate is a hatred of the US itself, and they are succeeding by dismantling the country.  E.g., the GOP has had it in for Social Security system for decades since Gingrich days, and DT is becoming the Republican hero to commence it via the payroll tax clauses of his pandemic plan.  And all the while pandering to the conservative retirees who depend on it -- this is the brilliance of the Republican Party, scaring people into voting against their own interest.

The architect of the dismantling is Steve Bannon, whom it seems is deliberately keeping out of the public eye.  But he's not driven by money, it's some sort of grudge against the world.  He is the devil whispering in DT's ear.

Another blackguard of the moment is Mark Meadows, a Tea Party proponent of "no nothing government."  He is literally in DT's ear as his current chief of staff.

for me it is difficult to see M Obama as a wise choice

I wouldn't pick a POTUS replacement part with no political experience

 

with all the rather difficult pecularities on the hill the house on Penn Ave

should be filled with experienced politicians if pushing (dragging?) USofA up and forward is an objective

No! Biden has been careful to not say that he won't be running for a second term. He has suggested that he will be a transition president which many people interpret that way. But it's NOT the same thing as saying so.

Perhaps most Americans (as opposed to Brits) think only of EAST Asians as Asians. But thanks to Kamala they will soon learn.

Exactly. We've had enough of electing presidents based on celebrity alone. If she was serious about pursuing a political career, which she clearly is not, she would pursue lower offices to gain experience.

Indeed, the Africans were celebrating the appointment of Obama to POTUS, presumably because they thought he would be "helping" them. The celebrations didn't last long though, and we heard little about it from them in the following years. I guess they overlooked that he is only half white, and brought up by a white woman.

The primary concern of American leaders should only be about America.

India is considered part of Asia. That's probably too difficult a concept for the right wingers/Sarah Palins of the world to grasp.  They are not known to have much of a grasp of geography, or anything else for that matter, and they seem so very proud of that.

You could pick anyone out of the phonebook and get a candidate with more skills than Trump.  But the main point is to win.  It's possible that the Harris pick will motivate Black voters to turn out in greater numbers than otherwise.  Since Black voters are crucial to the Dems, the Harris pick could make sense.  My only reservation is that Black voters did not vote for her in great numbers during the primaries, so her choice may not end up helping that much.
