There are two new tall twin towers going up on Rama 9, seems like right next to the Unilever building.  I always see them on the expressway when driving to work but have never gone past that way to get a closer look.  2I'd estimate they are at 50+ storeys already and still going up.  Anyone know what it is / they are?  I can't find any information anywhere.  I assume they belong to G-Land but there is no mention of them on their website, no mention of them on any skyscraper sites, no mention of them anywhere (that I can find).

Just curious as I am a skyscraper geek.  Anyone?

Brilliant, thanks!  Satisfied my curiosity.  Two 61 storey towers.

Remains to be seen if there is anyone to buy them but it looks very nice.

Plenty of people around there next to Chinese Embassy. I expect they have sold massive chunks off plan to Chinese firms. Already like China Town around there.

Right next to them is the site for the planned tallest building in ASEAN the Rama IX Super Tower that they have been mulling over for many years. Something tells me that that project will be a non-starter right now.

Yeah, don't imagine we'll be seeing that for a few years.  Shame.

Shhh-it's a CIA secret plan to throw off the next NYC terrorist attack by making them think Bangkok is really NYC.

The green areas either side of the project have already been bulldozed. So any buyers who were under the impression those spaces were parks or would remain undeveloped are in for a surprise.

Somehow, I've never quite gotten the idea of how "luxury living" equates to having to take a 5 minute elevator ride to get in and out of your home every time, having hundreds of people living above, below and around you, and having some small piece of two enormous fingers in the sky....

I've been watching these towers go up from my condo near Phetchaburi MRT.  From my angle they are closer together and they do, indeed, look like the NY twin towers.  But, they will have what look like super cool lighted tops when they are done.  My partner and I often wonder why the Pattaya highrise condos don't do cool roof designs and lighting like many buildings in Bangkok.  I think this project will have about 2000 units--too big for my tastes.

I do not know Bangkok but how interesting - what immediately came to my mind was a Chinese hotel and casino complex like Nagaworld in Phnom Penh:-

Yes, I know gambling is illegal in Thailand but who knows now that the economy and tourism has been decimated.

I checked a couple of floor plans on their website, and it looked like 12-14 units per floor....

And some pretty small shoeboxes among them....
