Are the Chinese still classified as foreigners? ????

Yes, but more accurately  "preferred foreigners".

  • And so Thailand is the first to reward China and totally overlook that they created the virus that wreaked havoc on the world whether intentionally or unintentionally released. I wonder whose pockets

Of course the fallacious pandering to the Chinese comes first... <deleted> shame on them

  • Pure Gold. Perhaps someone ought to inform these Thai chiefs that the average stay of a Chinese national is 5 days less than the 2 week quarantine.

I do not understand the logistics of this. 150 Chinese will arrive in Phuket on a charter flight to stay for at least 30 days. Are they all going to stay for the same duration? Will there be a charter flight to return them to China after X amount of days?

typical length of stay for Chinese is 3-5 days max.... how they will manage to stay 30 days 14 of which are to be in quarantine, something smells fishy, Chinese will never accept something like that, never, not in their mentality

One wonders why all the envy that Chinese Nationals are going to be considered first in line to enter Thailand.

Why not.

They seem to have the virus under control and they do make up approx 18% of the world population and are perhaps by tourist numbers spending and investing the most in Thailand travel/tourist/property industry.

Unfortunately, in the US, UK and many countries in Europe, the virus is out of control as the inhabitants of those nations feel their freedom of whatever is important.

Oh come on you're talking facts and common sense...there's no room for that when there's an anti-Chinese/Thai [anti-Asian?] rant to be posted.

There are 1.4b Chinese nationals. You think they all have the same circumstances?

The third flight mentioned by the media will be on November 1st from what they termed "prathet Scandinavia" or "the country of Scandinavia".

are they aware Scandinavia consist of 5 countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland) each one reporting completely different infections

???? Pssssst! Don't tell them this! If they understand this, they will make a U-turn again and let only their Chinese (future) compatriots in.

Allowing in a few hundred Chinese tourists is some kind of "reward"?

Absolutely especially when the invested retiree are still on the outs. So why are the Chinese the chosen ones?

So will the Chinese tourists have to get a pre-flight check and certificate?

What are the conditions for their stay in quarantine after arriving?

Yes they will, just like everyone else, including the Thais.

They will need a second quarantine returning, depending on the Chinese rules at the time.

pretty much so, know it by experience living there for 12 + years.... but you don't have to agree with my opinion

Chinese because the masters told so. Scandinavians because they have spare € and blend in easily, harmless.

Did you enjoy living there?

Chinese are first! I must be psychic as I wrote on TVF a long time ago that IMO they would be the first back. Actually it wasn't hard to work that one out.

Soooo, a potential 4 weeks of quarantine to have a holiday in LOS- I think not. Either quarantine rules change or forgetaboutit, IMO.

Who you think bought all the condos in BKK, they are seriously invested also, have massive numbers and are closest.

Most of the ones you speak of are from covid ravaged countries. Don't take it personally

1.5 billion people...300M+ middle class or higher (almost equal to the population of the U.S. or Europe); don't you think there are plenty of Chinese "digital nomads" and single "tourists" who like to hangout long-term in Thailand like so many Westerners?

So every one these Chinese Tourists will have the following done before they depart?

1.  Covid 19 PCR Test 72 hours before departure

2. Covid 19 Health Insurance with a minimum coverage of $100,000

3. They have already booked and paid for their Quarantine Hotel

4. They have already booked and paid for their hotel/accommodations for the balance fo the remaining 90 days???

If the answer to all 4 are Yes then I have a bridge for sale in Brooklyn at a low price.

sorry to disappoint you man, these requirements are only towards westerners, Chinese are exempt from all of them, they are only required to stay 3-5 days (sarcasm intended)

Doe the thai government have an intelligence agency? Similar to CIA or MI6? Or read the news?? The CCP are actively encouraging (ordering) its subjects to not go abroad but to holiday inside China,to try and kick start their economy which has been hit massively by covid despite what some might think. They've also suffered serious floods that have devastated regions, tens of thoisands(probably higher) dead or homeless, entire farming land wiped out.

Thailand can open the door, the CCP might not let anyone squeak through it

I lived in China 15 years, now I m in Bangkok and know some chinese living here including my wife, her parents and many friends of them on retirement, elite visa and non -B. It s not because you don t know them or don t talk to them that they are not here, same as western people.

While I can understand people cricizing chinese government or chinese tourists on a tour, I don t understand why so many people here are so much anti chinese. Most if the one I know are well educated and never bother anyone here.

Assuming the Chinese have to adhere to the same immigration rules as farangs they will find it as hard to stay as farangs currently do. I doubt many will be staying on marriage extensions in Issan, or teaching English in Bkk.

It's obviously the ones you don't know that are the problem.

One of FIVE hotels? And one more being considered? What is happening? Can people only do quarantine in Chon Buri, Phuket and Buriram?

Ok, who are they and what s the problem?

If Thai are good in one thing, than is in calculation who brings them most money. 100K thb spending (western) expats are myth. They know who spends money and who is mongering moaning cheap charlie on 7/11 beer and 40 Thb street stall meal.

I have my Chinese family here with me and have Chinese acquaintances as well but these are minorities that live here, the post is talking about the ones traveling, similar to the ones coming here in the past that pee on the floor, spit on your shoes, loud, cut waiting lines, etc., have you see how they behave at the sea food buffet... quite sure your family and acquaintances may not act that way, nor does my family, but, unfortunately the majority of them do, thus giving bad reputation to the country, same applies to some westerners as well, Thais don't like many westerners because they also behave poorly, don't take it personally, just step back a couple steps and when the traveling Chinese are around see their actions/behavior
