Miss Universe Thailand favourite sacked for installing a ‘spy’

Miss Universe Thailand favourite Chayathanus “Cheraim” Saradatta was removed from the contest on Wednesday for using an insider for her personal benefit.

 

Piyaporn Sankosik, executive director of TPN 2018, organisers of the Miss Universe Thailand pageant, held a press conference to announce the contestant’s removal, saying all contenders had to follow the rules and regulations detailed in the contracts they signed.

 

She also pointed out that the contracts clearly state that no outsiders can be brought in as a mentor and that the organiser reserves the right to disqualify a contestant if she violates the rules.

 

Piyaporn also said she has evidence to back the dismissal in case Chayathanus wants to take the case to court. She explained that she has CCTV footage of the “outsider”, Chayathanus’s manager, attending more than three meetings.

 

“Cheraim called to say she will have her personal manager, who has been looking after her for two years, to come and meet me. But when the day came, I was shocked when I saw him. [He was a TPN staff member] She claims she is not well, but still wants to participate in the contest. She won’t take part in activities, but wants to enter the final round because her costume is ready,” Piyaporn said.

 

She said Chayathanus’s manager, Sithichai Reoviroj, was the only TPN staff member who has not signed his contract, adding that this case came to her attention when a journalist asked why this particular contender was being given more attention. As a member of TPN staff, Sithichai often shifted the media focus to Chayathanus.

 

“She is a well-behaved, smart girl and we love her, but rules are rules,” Piyaporn said.

 

Meanwhile, in a television interview, the contestant said she accepted the decision and apologised for not reading her contract carefully. Her manager, meanwhile, claimed to have never seen the contract.

My father told me "beauty is only skin deep" don't be fooled by looks alone.

Is there anything in Thailand that isn't corrupt, anything at all? It infests everything from people at the very top dealing with multi-millions of baht or more (see today's news on the Met office man jailed), right down to motorcycle taxi ranks. Strange how, when TAT speaks of Thai culture, it always ignores the most pervasive part of it.

Every event that has money and prestige will always have people who try to beat the system.  It would not surprise me if she thought everything was above board.  Her manager had to know and by pushing her on the media that he was seeing money in his future

You are right, but “impolute” isn’t a spanish word either. I meant “unpolluted”...(not contaminated with noxious or poisonous substances and potions like the creams with which she is impregnated).

She can enter next year.   She isn't the most pretty but was popular  and smart.   I hate ro see so many contestants  with fake small noses. Lips and chins plus who know how many other procedures or botix shots.   I would like to see a contest with  all natural women.   I think this poyraual of beauty is very harmful for many youth.  But it sells many beauty products and procedures.

Corruption occurs in all countries has anyone thought that maybe Thailand is less skilled at covering it up than our governments are ?

Perhaps the Asian people including Thais are more willing to expose corruption than western governments

We all know that in the UK corrupt officials are only investigated after they retire and their pension is secure the Hillsborough scandal is a case in point. An investigation only allowed years after all those involved have retired. The child sex scandal in Rotherham, The chief constable who told his officers not to investigate (for political reasons) is still in post in West Yorkshire police. The social workers who did nothing are still in post (although the head of the service resigned and probably has another well paid job somewhere else). Jimmy Saville child molester who was protected by the BBC (the state news and entertainment channel) until after he died. I could go on...

Members of the house of Lords in the UK with Alzheimer disease allowed to carry on in their role and getting £300 a day deciding on UK government policy (quite recent a lord accused of child molesting was not charged because he had Alzheimer but he was still attending the house of lords and being paid). I actually was in charge of a posh nursing home in London the relatives of a lord who was completely batty took him regularly to sign into the house of lords so he got the money and paid for his room with it.
