Cops told: You can play on TikTok, Facebook and Twitter - but don't damage good name of RTP

An order has been issued to the Royal Thai Police to mind what they do on social media.

The letter from senior commander Pol Gen Wissanu Prasatthongospop stopped short of an outright ban on using TikTok, Facebook and Twitter but RTP officers were warned to watch their online behaviour and urged to post appropriately.

Doing anything to damage the good name and image of the RTP was a "no-no", said the letter sent to all station chiefs.

Commanders were told to ensure that the online rules were being followed by subordinates and told to instigate disciplinary proceedings against any officer who let the side down.

That’s fine. Just don’t talk about it on Twitter, etc.

RTP: “It ain’t a crime if the RTP don’t talk about it”.

It means play with TikTok, FB and Twitter all you want, but officers must make sure to meet the daily targets of Thailand's no. 1 uniformed and licensed mafia outfit. Disciplinary action will be taken against members who don't deliver targeted numbers of extortion, scams, bribes and so on.

RTP's 'good name'... :cheesy:  It's a wonder K. Wissanu doesn't feel embarrassed making statements like this.

How quickly times change!

Not too long ago their favorite pastime was playing "Tropico".

I really wanted to post on this subject ,but laughter overcome me.

On what planet does this dh live?

if the RTP was to sue anyone in front of a court of Justice (a real one with real Justice) for damaging its good name, the court should dismiss the case right away and find the plaintiff in contempt of court for wasting the court's time and sentence the plaintiff to an adequate fine in addition of covering defendant's legal costs...

Was this giving the RTP the ok to have their face in their phones while on duty?

Great, the cops sitting in the gold shops will have even more fun as they sit there playing with their mobile phones !!

Maybe this was brought on in answer to the Phuket policemen that never received their bonus pay due to them for extra work because of Covid problems. Apparently, their bonus got   *lost*  so they posted it online to complain.

Talking from the 7th one

This shows you how incredibly out of touch with reality these fools are. No connection whatsoever, or they would understand they are not only the laughing stock of their nation, but they are known around the world, as being ineffective, incompetent, and super corrupt.

Thai police are franchisees. They are about revenue collection, not law enforcement. They are about as detached from law enforcement, as Prayuth is detached from working for the benefit of the masses.

However, having said all that, the one good thing I will say about them, is that they tend to stay out of my face, which is good.
