Every single one of the 33 has a government official escorting, with a calculator.

  • Who knew real estate prices had crashed so badly!

Do your homework, I'm not your assistant.

In a thread on this forum the Thai government admitted that they were part of a Chinese government agency.

I forgot the name of the agency, though I think it was PLA, as I'm not a China fanboy, but that should be no problem for you

Student councillors from the Chinese PLA.  Their here to advice the government on how the bosses want the students dealt with....and buy up some bargain priced luxury condos.......

They will be spending this money on what? You could spend that money much more wisely in china. Everything here is made in china so these arent desperate tourists but buisness people on the verge of buying up the place.

I dont think that is correct but may be wrong. There was a group of government staff that came under a separate purpose about the same time. I know several on TV guessed that they were the same group and posted that they have figured out the "scam". It was report in Bangkok Post that government group had gone back after completing there mission. It was about the same week this group arrived.  Now I may be wrong on this but that is my memory of this situation.   With all that said I would not be surprised if this group is connected to a government sponsored program to help promote tourism starting up in Thailand. That would be more likely.

For 11.000 euro in 2 weeks you can travel all around Europe in a new Benz with driver and sleep in 5 star hotels/restaurants every day. You'll see the worlds best architecture, safe roads/beaches and everything the best.

Are they insane to pay that much for Thailand during covid?

Brilliant, I just love a good old belly laugh in the morning. These people are deluded. If they are spending that much, they are not tourists at all, but business folk buying up Thailand.  Just brilliant.

How much of Thailand does one buy up with 400k ?

My sister came over a few years ago, family of 5, two weeks.

Spent 10 days in the intercontinental in Hua Hun - 2 Adjoining rooms: 170,000 baht

Spent 4 days in the Shangrila - 2 Adjoining rooms: 40,000 baht.

They didn’t spend an additional 190,000 baht on food and other stuff !!!

The idea that one tourist spends 400,000 baht in two weeks is utterly ridiculous - this idiots simply don’t think critically before making such outlandish statements, and anyone with any sense recognises these statements as being hideously outlandish and the speaker a fool.

One of the 39 is going to buy a 13 million baht condo and the other 38 will spend about 4900 baht per day for two weeks....

One of the few ways the statement could make sense.

Clearly he has includeded the cost of quarantine in that figure.

Its true they will. After flights, asq, insurance, covid tests. That leaves about 40k baht to spend for the rest of the holiday. Credit to him

Last time I looked 1 month is not 2 weeks but yes, 13k a day is a bit over the top for leo's and a rub and tug.

They are going to pool their money and buy some condo's ?

Just ring the bell in Windmill a few times a night for a month and you'll soon go through 400K Baht, lol.

Nothing changes here, which leaves me gasping of "what will they think of next"? .............. News media quoting that from "top to bottom" in the industry the tourist is gonna be spending huge amounts & squeezed for every baht by coming on holiday here. I just don't fathom the mentality at all ......... "once bitten, twice shy" & many tourists have realized this, turned their backs on this venue for holidays, double standards, double pricing & safety concerns etc etc. The "golden goose" is well & truly cooked ............ Thailand only has themselves to blame as their demise had set in well before the pandemic. Due to covid19 it is the final nail in the coffin. Very, very sad .............. a lost paradise.

They are intermediaries for Chinese Sovereign Wealth fund investments.  They are doing the same all over the World, drawing Nations into debt.  One example among many. The Maldives are finally seeing the light as they default on cheap Chinese debt and property investments in that country.  They are not alone. Thailand investments in road/rail. bridge/ dams infrastructure and other large projects, while impressive, are being debt financed and I can bet who is holding all that debt. It will come back to haunt them and sooner than they think.  "He who sups with the devil, should have a long spoon", never a truer phrase.

Hmm.... 400 K each?.... snort.... titter..... guffaw.... TT ?

The stingy frugal Chinese will spend THAT much in Thailand? if they wanted to spend that much they'd have gone to Europe and to a third world country where a plate of seafood cost you an arm and a leg.......

Agree.. They are too cheap to spend that kind of money...

Any of those greedy people who are participated in this fooling money grabbing process  to their  human fellows, should have remained  longer in their own bubbles within that womb they are from.
