700,000 km? How many Christmas beers did you have before you started pecking at the keyboard?

The vehicles standing in second-hand lots are not ex-taxis.

Can you explain the relevance of comparing the longevity of a taxi engine to that of a privately owned vehicle?

CYA - or try to anyway - 555

700 K is 700 K

The engine does not know it is in a taxi - only knows the hours it has run and the Km it has covered.

Without proper maintenance it would not last as long

Taxi or not - the figure is the same

Putting paid to your earlier post re: Thai owners do not do proper maintenance

700 K is 700 K because the engine is always running hot, as I have already pointed out to you. Are you suggesting privately owned vehicles can rack up the same? LOL

You have a statistical population of one, how many songthaews do you see blowing black s##t out of their exhausts? That's good maintenance?

No, I'd like to borrow a baseball bat, but I suspect even that would be futile.

How is it running hot - do you mean operating temperature ?

Do non taxis not run at operating temperature ?

Hard to dig a hole with a baseball bat - but the banter is enjoyable

I changed tires on my Fortuner after 80K.

Yes, ours has done 60k and there is lots of tread left.
