AZ vaccine will be marketed at $4 per shot. $280 million to vaccinate every man woman and child in Thailand. How much a submarine? One individual recently took $40 bn out of the treasury. That's enough to vaccinate every man, woman and child in the world 5 times over.

yep u got it,we are on the same page here ,as we say its amazing that with all this dough theres no vaccs!!!

Looks like the provincial governors will be locking down their provinces when they decide it needs to be done. This is now spreading rapidly and the government does not have it under control as they said. Just look at Ratong now and the latest info is they are now in lockdown.

Of course the government has it under control, they have passed the buck to the Provincial Governors who can be blamed for over-reacting or under-reacting, the spin being it's not the governments fault if they got it wrong.

The problem is now, not March. Lock down now while there is a chance to control the next wave.

I drove past some bars last night that are popular with farang. They were busy and almost everyone was without a mask. and zero social distancing. Some farang were kissing the bar "workers".  <deleted> were those idiots thinking?

Now 90%+ of the local Thais and farang are only wearing masks when they have to go thru a temperature check point.

It is probably hopeless to prevent the big wave because you can't fix stupid!

How can they vaccinate if there are no vaccines available in Thailand?   Where do you want them to get vaccine?  Other countries have the manufacturing capability or were developing and financing the vaccines so they have priority.

European Union pop. 450 million ordered 1.4 billion doses

United States pop. 330 million ordered more than 1 billion doses

Canada pop. 38 million ordered 358 million doses

United Kingdom pop 63 million ordered 350 million doses

Australia  pop 25 million ordered 140 million doses (after CSL 50 million does order cancelled)

Covax purchasing group (Thailand is a member) pop. 5.3 billion approx. has ordered  2 billion doses

(Expected to rollout end of 2021 ongoing to 2023)

Thailand will get after the countries who took the risk and invested in R&D get their vaccines.

Do you think there is a lesson in this? Maybe instead of buying new submarines or mercedes benz fleets or mia noi holiday, that paying salary of medical researchers, and paying for laboratory and manufacturing capability is a better investment in country. Maybe time to put tax on Chinese tourist to help offset cost of Covid19?

Quick Google search and it seems Thailand does have plans for orders of vaccine.

They're in the 'Zero COVID' trap right now, the only way out is by failing to control it.

Lets not kid ourselves here, someone has made a choice which explains why New Year hasn't been cancelled......yet.

If no action is taken then there will inevitably be a huge outbreak in the first two to three weeks of January.

Public new year’s celebrations have been canceled however I will be at one of the many private celebrations so cheers ????

Someone would think that with thai govermement being the sidekick of the chinese they should have been already getting the chinese vaccine (see sinopharm) but for some reason (finances?) they choose not to do so. Here in Bahrain where I live the goverment already made the vaccine available to public (citizens and residents) free of charge, and since two days ago people now have the choice between the sinopharm or the pfizer vaccine. I already had my first dose (sinopharm)  on the 23rd Dec and waiting for the second one on the 13th Jan, haven't expireicend any side effects at all so far.

Thailand has been quite fortunate not to have the massive outbreak felt in other countries. Vaccines are in limited supply and are being distributed to areas in critical condition.

once enough vaccines has been manufactured (2 billion is the goal for worldwide) Thailand will start to see arrival in the country. Our supply will most likely come from China as they are the only country that has the capacity to generate 1.5 billions doses. The USA, Europe, Russia, India are all trouble. Expect deaths Worldwide to easily 350,000 possibly reaching 500,000

it ain’t going to be pretty folks. 2021 will be a very bumpy ride until August

Not if people observe and carry out the safety rules advised.
