How do farangs get covid vaccinations in Thailand ?

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

It seems that farangs can get caught in a grey zone about covid vaccinations.

What thai official tells, it looks they only care of thai citizens.

Many of our born countries also seems not to care about people who are living outside the country.

Well I think/see some private thai hospitals will offer vaccinations to very overcharged prices, there was already an example in Bangkok with a private hospital who offered vaccination for around 10000 baht without having the vaccine, this is not the right way to get the vaccination, to make some greedy thai speculants happy, I think. A Pfizer or Moderna vaccine from USA/Europe cost around 1000 baht, the oxford vaccine cost around 100 baht.

I have still not seen or heard about any serious vaccine offers with quality western vaccine to farangs in Thailand, which will be avaiable this or the next year ?

What to do ?

  • Here is an idea, why don't the various Embassies arrange something for their own expat citizens, like the UK Embassy?   hahaha, I crack myself up sometimes. ????????????  Like that's ever go

  • be happy you are not being forced to take the "vaccine". that will come later. most likely some Communist Chinese garbage.

  • How about this, forget a vaccine exists and move on with your life.

Yes I prefer the good tested vaccines frem well known western compagnies, I will not feel safe about Chinese and russian vaccines, which are not going trough the same test programs as the western vaccines.

Stay tuned.

Or go home and get a vaccination?

Vaccinations will be available here for foreigners. The cost is said to be reasonable.

It is way too early to speculate if and when Covid vaccinations will become available to foreigners.

Logic should dictate that if you have a Thai spouse and/or kids here you should have the option of being vaccinated along with the rest of your family, probably at your own expensive.

But I'm not going to hold my breath...

Possibly a shorter one if you get COVID19!

The staff, hospital rent, hospital equipment, electric, ......   needs to be paid too.

My guess is that vaccines will be available to anyone sooner or later. But it might be some cheap stuff from certain countries.

Then, if you want something better from another company, you will probably need to pay dearly.

just imagine IF IF IF...

farang covid 100,000 baht per shot

NO visa unless confirmed by hospital you had all the shots.  two.....maybe 200,000 baht

this would be a good way to make money.  oh, no vaccine...you lose everything. nobody would cry for you.  except you.

i'm saving 100 billion baht just in case things get out of control.

covid-19 vaccine should be free to each and every human being on this planet. period. shut up about cost. this is the right thing to do.

you want it paid for ? tell the top 1000 companies in the world to foot the bill. shoot apple is worth what 2 trillion on its own.

the suffering this is causing is quite clear and yet we as a species can't really pull together to fight this. otherwise ideas like mine would already be happening.

It's relative to your income if you get 10,000,000 THB a year, 10,000 THB is quite reasonable, but as most of us are on a small fraction of that, 10,000 THB is considerable, about 50% of my monthly pension (before anybody criticizes me for being here with such small income, I do have other lines of income, so lets not go down that rabbit hole it's non productive).

Start saving 10k baht for Moderna vaccine at Vibhavadi hospital, or don't take the vaccine. While encouraged, vaccination is not mandatory, although this could change in the future.

In his last communique of few days ago, the Australian ambassador said that according to Mr. Anutin, Thailand's Minister for Public Health all foreigners in Thailand will get vaccinated for free, How and when that is remain to be seen...

Not taking the vaccine is brilliant until you want to travel somewhere and then you'll be asked for some form of documentation to prove you've had it, we all know it's coming.....

Yes, i'm sure proving you're vaccinated will become another document required for visa extensions etc, why would n't they....

I can hear them now:  "It's not our mission".

As I have noted on another site, and depending on your lifestyle choices, as the Thais around you get vaccinated, your need to be vaccinated will steadily diminish.

All vaccination for foreigners should be free, but not produced by China.

But China should pay for all because they are the ones who let the virus go.

From the embassy : the United States government does not plan to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to private U.S. citizens overseas.  U.S. citizens traveling or residing overseas should follow host country developments and guidelines for COVID-19 vaccination

hoping :

Mr. Anutin, Thailand's Minister for Public Health will come true that all foreigners in Thailand will get vaccinated for free

How would you even know if the Vaccine going into your A@s@ is from Moderna or Sinovac ?

A label is so easily changed.

Why? Because in China produced cars, drone, iphones, etc. have a bad quality, so their vaccine must be bad too?

Vaccines are not currently available to anyone in Thailand.

It is clear that the first tranche (consisting of a Chinese vaccine that did nto complete clinical trials) will be reserved for special priority groups like health workers, and these will all be Thais.

It will be many months before the vaccine is available to the general public

No one knows what, if any, the policy will be regarding availability to non-Thai citizens once it is.

the way things work here I will not be surprised if no guidance is issued on that with the result that each  hospital/district will have its own interpretation and practice, some providing regardless of nationality, some providing only to Thai citizens, some providing to foreigners but at a price etc etc.. But that's just a guess.

I think we should all wait and see what happens once the vaccine arrives

Then see who is getting what distribution wise over the whole Country

We can speculate until the cows come home on who will get it

Let's wait and see i would assume the Thai people will get free

About the rest of us here let's see?

Maybe because Vibhavadi hospital only ordered 60,000 doses of vaccine from Moderna?

And it's into your arm, not your A@s@.

Wonder if you'd say that if Chantaburi bats' virus caused the next pandemic... Vaccine should not be produced by Thailand, but Thailand should pay for vaccine for all 7+ billion people on the Planet.... ?
