Got the COVID vaccine today.

employer arranged for our vaccination, so no charge.  got the first jab this afternoon, next one in two weeks.

this is the sinopharm vaccine, developed with the wuhan institute of virology, produced by wuhan institute of biological products.  each 50ml vial individually wrapped with barcode for each vial scanned and attached to our file.

two injections, two weeks apart.  30 minutes observation required after each injection.  afterwards no alcohol or spicy foods for three days.

no side effects for me.  thai gf felt a little dizzy, but that is a common reaction for her anytime she gets an injection or gives a blood sample.

we will receive an official certificate with a lovely red stamp after the second injection.  she will contact the thai consulate in guangzhou next week and ask about renewing her passport and get an update on return requirements if one has been vaccinated.

It's not what you know, it's who you know ????

Suppose the rest of us will be paying through the nose to get our hands on one of those...

i didn't ask about the individual price.  will try to remember to ask when we get the second jab.

i did read somewhere that a dose (one or two?) would cost around $140.

Please note that our OP is NOT in Thailand.

Currently Thailand return requirements are the same vaccinated or not, 14 days quarantine in an approved facility.

This may change of course.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Good to hear you got the injection,i hope the rest of the world will follow soon

so the economy can get back on track.

Something for the conspiracy people, flu and vaccine comes from the same place!

good luck

JFI...AstraZeneca said it will Provide Vaccines at Cost “in perpetuity” to low- and middle-income countries in the Developing World.

AstraZeneca is a member of Covax, a global initiative aiming to distribute Two Billion vaccine doses to 92 low- and middle-income countries at no more than $3 a dose. Neither Pfizer nor Moderna has however joined the initiative....oops...Pfizer..@ $20 per dose. Free for  first 100,000,000 early recipients in US...while Moderna recons $10 to $50 per dose but also Free for early recipients.(dont know how many?)

we kinda figgered we should cut out the middleman, go direct to the source.  what better place to get a vaccine for a wuhan virus than wuhan!

looks like the price i mentioned above was old news from last april.  a more recent article says sinopharm will charge the government 200 rmb (about $30) per dose for the RENO inactivated vaccine.  i'll ask when we go for jab number two.

@Crossy  yes, currently in the middle kingdom.  read that thailand may be getting some vaccine from china, thought forum members would be interested in knowing if there were any side effects.

update for those interested....

next morning, about 18 hours after injection of the sinopharm vaccine -

thai girlfriend has a sore arm around the injection spot and is feeling a bit sleepy.  her (probably psychosomatic) dizziness went away after a couple hours.

hansum man has experienced no ill-effects and no soreness yet.

oh, and forgot to mention;  add no seafood for 3 days to the dietary restrictions following the vaccination.

Thanks for updating us on the 'hansum man', but what about you?

Seafood?  Sounds like someone somewhere had a bad reaction, and they had to pin the blame somewhere!

I would likely take this vaccine though.

worrisome, of course, although i don't know if this is real or falun gong disinformation picked up by multiple websites.  if nothing substantial turns up in the next two weeks, expect to go ahead with the second injection.

in any event, we've got about 500 guinea pigs in this batch.  i'll certainly report any adverse affects.

as of now, after 24 hours, obligatory thai gf's arm is still a little sore, whereas handsum man is still feeling no pain.

Oh. So you get this in China?

Lol typical Chinese medicine recommendation to prevent 'shang huo' (上火).

As soon as you can run fast enough to catch your pangolin!

I won’t  be having the Chinese  vaccine, I will wait for the American or British jab, also I won’t be buying anything Chinese if I can help it.  They have to be held accountable for what they have done, they are even blocking the WHO from entering the country and destroyed all there data from the Wuhan laboratory . The real virus is the Chinese government, they can go and get fxxxxd !!!!

  • Popular Post

the OP is happy to receive an injection made in CHINA?????????

also, this vaccine has not been approved by WHO yet

up to him, but no Chinese Vaccine is coming within a mile of my arm!!!
