Okay given for Bt300 foreign tourist entry fee

I believe they have wanted to do this for along time,if the government don,t try and get u,some thais  will do the same.The fact no tourist allowed in and waiting to return,they will play the waiting game and hope they return,but with what they are doing for visa,s with expats living there.who knows what will happen and go elsewhere

Absolutely ridiculous it already costs an arm and a leg to get back along with all the complicated requirements for entry. Now they want to annoy people by adding a 300 baht entry fee?

 

A holiday in Jamaica, The Maldives or even Dubai sounds much more appealing right now were all they require is a negative test result.

 

With the crazy entry requirements Thailand should be trying to come up with ways to encourage people to go through all these hoops to get here instead they added stupid fees and put people off.

Isn’t there already a tax per person? I remember years ago one had to pay in cash as you left. And then (long after everyone else did it) it was added into ticket prices.

While it is annoying the way the thai government keep coming up with ways to get more money off tourists.

Tbf they dont charge for a VOA like neighboring counties do so it swings it roundabouts (although they do charge 500 to leave).

All tourists arriving at the moment, have to already purchased travel insurance, covering Covid 19 for at least $100,000, to be able to get a COE, to fly to Thailand!!

 

Even for Visa-exempt entries.

 

Maybe when they realise they will cut the entrance fee to 150฿ ????

Great idea .  Why not increase it to 500baht and give some insurance or something of value ....?.. have they also considered dual pricing at  national Parks to encourage tourists  that would be great!...... I seem to recall many years ago paying an exit fee at international airports  too ?how about reintroducing that to give extra value to the tourists. I appreciate times have been tough and 300 Baht is not a lot but why not hide it in airport taxes for ALL passengers coming in as a duty tax?... And Thailand still want a tourism industry !

There has been talk about raising the PSC from 700 baht to 1,000 baht for the last two+ years.

Alas I'm not as confident as you are about that. IMHO, Thai-bashing on this and other fora pales into insignificance when compared to foreigner-bashing by Thais being a national pastime - didn't used to be like this, I remember the days when foreigners were looked after pretty well in Thailand - when they and their money were welcome... halcyon days.

I was going to make a joke about your intelligence, but it's possible you wrote that sarcastically.  

 

So let me just say this again. It is not "just" 300 baht.  It's 300 baht added to the already sizeable surcharges, taxes, levies and fees tourists already get charged in Thailand

 

Starting with cost of the visa, then the compulsory insurance (for your safety of course), the COE fee, the quarantine fee, then the airport taxes that international airlines get charged (and added to the ticket price) per aircraft landing, then the "special service surcharge" airport taxis charge, then hotel taxes, then the 1000% mark up on entrance fees at tourist attractions, then silly fines on some unknown immigration rule if you forget to report to them that you spent one night at a beach resort on the weekend. That's not even mentioning the attempts - even by law enforcement - to scam money or overcharge tourists.

 

And on top of all of that, they charge you 1000 baht to leave the country.........even the Thais are so ashamed of their own behavior that they make the airlines add this to the ticket price in fine print so most tourists don't know they're being scammed again

 

I wonder, how long until Thailand introduces a carbon tax on all tourists to, you know, combat climate change. There's probably another 1000 baht they can shake down each tourist for as well

Correct Sir, What they did was to remove the payment at the passport control on exit, and put it on the ticket price at source. At the same time they raised it to 750 Baht, a 50% increase.

The ASQ is already a dual price scheme.  The hotel is only worth $20 and meals another $5 each, so $35 per day --not $100!

These people are morons. Thailand’s tourism and small businesses in places like chiang mai, Pattaya, samui and Phuket are dead and now they will charge non existent tourists a fee for tourism promotion.

 

Get the vaccine (not the Chinese version) and inoculate the population ASAP to get the borders open and tourists back

Economics 101 basic stuff we learned in high school: When demand is way down drop prices way down to encourage more business. 

Thai economics: When demand is way down charge more money to compensate for losses. Never mind that way less people will pay. 

 

Seriously, who the F wants to come to Thailand when the government keeps inventing reasons to stay away? I sure as hell wouldn't come here again as a tourist.

We will all be covered by the 30 baht scheme and no need for covid insurance.

 

God help us all, there is no way i put a foot insice any local hospitals if I can ever walk on my own feet, or be aware of where they are carrying me. However I have used Hua Hin hospital, and they have a vip service, but any countryside hospital? No

 

Is still the fee operative with the airline tickets, or is it terminated?
