BANGKOK (NNT) - Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan has briefed the Ministry of Labour on the government’s measures to help workers during the COVID-19 crisis.

Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan visited the Ministry of Labour to deliver policies and to follow up on the ministry’s accomplishments. he was welcomed by the Minister of Labour Suchat Chomklin, and Deputy Minister of Labour Narumon Pinyosinwat.

Gen Prawit urged the Ministry to pursue measures to help contain the spread of COVID-19 in workplaces, and develop aid measures for workers affected by the impacts of the pandemic.

This set of measures includes surveillance and prevention of COVID-19 spread among migrant workers, the reduction of migrant workers entering the country and improving the management system for migrant workers currently residing in here.

The government’s latest policy aims to relax some measures regarding the work and residency status of migrant workers, in a careful way, to help curb the spread of COVID-19, as well as implementing proactive disease control measures in workplaces.

For workers affected by the pandemic, the Ministry of Labour has been ordered to provide assistance to them in a timely manner, with the focus on job saving and promoting new hires, including informal workers, while providing skill development training for those in need.

The Deputy Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Labour to proceed with anti-human trafficking operations to upgrade Thailand’s status to Tier 1 on the US Trafficking in Persons report, to provide inclusive unemployment benefits and compensation to all Social Security benefit holders and to regulate the wage compensation for workers affected.

How about the spread amongst Thai workers, and stop with the "Only Foreigners and Migrant workers carry the Virus" propaganda speech.  Just like a few of your friends who run Golf Courses who are not allowing foreigners to play on the courses because they carry Covid, or the bus lines or trains not allowing foreigners to use the services.  What a crock of shinola.....

That was a total waste of time, why did he bother?

At the end of the day nothing useful was achieved, just a few geriatrics spouting nonsense.

What have they done to help the working class people here..........................................Correct, nothing.

About the only thing this Guy pushes, is his Plate across the Table for more Food to be piled on it.

For some reason everything this old geezer says always annoys me immeasurably. It doesn't matter what it is, what topic, or how sensible it may be (or not). It makes me sick regardless.

I wonder where that aversion could stem from...

About as helpful as a fork in a bowl of sugar.

They had a bit of a chuckle between themselves at how easy it is to dupe the peasants and get away with it. "I've got a few million bahts worth of watches, what have you managed to get?" ????

Yes, he sure does look very overweight, and that's without seeing his belly.
