Khon Kaen man, 22, blows himself up with a pipe bomb

EOD explosives experts were on the scene in a village in Khon Kaen after a 22 year old man who lived alone blew himself up with what appeared to be a pipe bomb.

 

The incident happened around 7.30 am in Ban Nong Kung in Ban Mum sub-district of Khon Kaen in the north east of Thailand.

 

Pieces of Amornthep Thongchomphu, 22, were found over a 10 meter area. 

 

There were the remains of a PVC pipe.

 

In his house EOD operatives found a stack of bomb making equipment that they destroyed before midday, said Manager.

 

People not involved were kept away from the scene.

There is an other article that goes in more details, it was a bomb not a rocket. The guy had used small bombs to bother his neighbors before. But nothing this strong. So no rocket sorry was really just a crazy bomb maker and if the report was true then IMHO he got what he deserved.

yes, there are many areas of employment, such as:

in the military, arms industry, firefighting, oil and gas industry, mining, building demolition, landscaping, road construction...

This sentence kind of puzzles me...

Working with explosives anywhere is dangerous.  This fellow will not mess up again, and it seems that he was using very strong.
