In his CPAC appearance he said:

In summary: "send the $$$ directly to me."  Politics is about pie-in-the-sky promises and whatever gabbing you can get away with, but when it comes to $$$, as they say in the vernacular, "the sh_t gets real."

 

He apparently thinks he can keep playing his see you in court tactic that he's used all his life, but by now he's probably the laughing stock of every bar association in the country.  And also a renowned deadbeat.  (Did all the checks clear, Rudy?)

 

I would also suspect that he was getting, or expected to get, a piece of that wall donation scheme his buddy Bannon was running.

Trump knows he appeals to the loony base.  They can't make him President again, but they can certainly line his pocketbook.  Why share?  The GOP must be a party of idiots.  Trump has proven time and time again he doesn't care about the party, only himself.  Yet, the GOP continues to grovel to him.  Sad!

I think his greed has gotten so fierce he doesn't realize he is being self-defeating.  He has limited the use of his image, when he's the sort of guy who wants his image to be everywhere.

His presidential pension is that he has access to his fans' pockets.
