For the Thai bashers - RANT:

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

So the title of the post is pretty clear in itself, right? This post is meant for those which bash Thais all day for not wearing helmets while riding their bikes, for not respecting traffic regulations, for driving like cocks. And specially for those farang which are such amazing drivers, that they would easily beat Lewis Hamilton at a F1 Track driving a Renault Twingo.....

Picture taken today near Rama 9 in Bangkok. Helmetless farang, riding his bike, passed me on the LEFT through a very narrow space, and when a pedestrian suddenly attempted to cross the road, he swerved right and was inches away from falling into my car.....

Needless to say, the only accident or rather incident which I've personally had after many kilometers of driving in Thailand, was when I was completely stopped at a red light, and a drunk farang rear ended me with his bike. Luckily I had no more than a few dents in my bumper which his insurance took care of anyway.....

But my point still stands, if you wanna be Thai bashers because of how they drive or because they don't wear helmets then you must set a good example yourself.

How easy it is to rant all day about drivers in Thailand, road deaths, how good it was back at home.... And then you ride your bike helmetless while driving like a <deleted>.

But again after all, as it happens with face masks. Asian people tend to be much more compliant than us Western people. And from what I see the same happens with Traffic regulations, we only comply with them back home because otherwise our monthly salary would be gone just by paying traffic fines isnt it?. But as it seems many when they come to Thailand they forget about the traffic rules (only when they drive, tho), because they very well remember them while lecturing others....

RANT OVER.

  • If farang ride without a helmet, have an accident and suffer head injuries, I have little sympathy for them!

What does that have to do with the "helmetless" farang riding way worse than locals  ????

I would be more concerned with all those lines that are hanging from the poles, never know when might drop and decapitate a rider, or even a convertible Mercedes driver!

most of the folks who bash other races are those whose parents were dumb as rocks..

So right......kids are the products of their parents....racist parents=racist kids....no real defense for later years though.

You summarized my whole post in a single phrase, and I couldn't agree more! ???? Love it

PS, I am not here to boast about how good of a driver I am. Cuz I also make mess ups and huge ones while driving... Point of this post was just the hypocrisy that many show while criticizing Thais and then doing the same they things criticize them for...

Sure, but this post is not about showing how good of a driver I am (hehe, cuz I am not. I do many of those bad things too). It's just about the hypocrisy of many farang criticizing Thais for the way they drive and then doing the same things they criticize or even worse.

you would think it would be the opposite though with our exposure to a 'superior education' I'm told we have. I assume that is conveniently being left at the airport lol..

Using a phone whilst driving is infinitely worse.....cannot believe people do it or that the punishment for doing so is so pathetic.

Most of the bashing here happens with a handful of very vocal posters. Mostly tricked into living on a farm or near a jungle. They hate their life here so of course they will lash out! It amuses me no end ????

No, it's not. I tell the truth. If you think that there's a single person in the world who drives perfectly without making a single mistake. Then you must be one of those who regards themselves as such a good driver that you think you could easily beat Hamilton at an F1 race...

I know that it is difficult for many of us to acknowledge that we too make mistakes in a forum, but it happens. I make mistakes, you make mistakes, everyone makes mistakes. But you'll never see me bashing Thais for the way they drive, like many people in this forum do, they reach such lengths on bashing Thais for the way they drive that often times it becomes racist. I sure agree things could improve in Thailand as they have slowly improved in other countries. But I would never bash them for it.

Mmmmm.....don't agree with basing Thais per se, but their driving skills are atrocious and having seen the driving lessons and driving test it is blindingly obvious why it is so poor.

You don't accidentally have one of the highest rates of road deaths and accidents by accident.

Yes, it would be very dumb to start such a thread. Because everyone is free to do whatever they want with their hard-earned money. And you have no say in it.

I believed the 'Pravda' era is far gone ???? Since '91, "comrade"

You are, go ahead. Just after you are done driving. Don't come home to start bashing Thais on TVF for not wearing helmet
