in the old days Casino was the 'home-brand' of Carrefour! then they left Tland, taken over by BigC but still keeping a big part of this 'home-brand' in their assortiment.

BigC has been sold again and it will only be some time until the whole Casino-brand has vanished, sadly to say!

Casino products have good quality, affordable and were always in stock.

nowadays I notice that some products are gone forever or at least have not been restocked for a while...

this is a <deleted>ty development. I just try to enjoy Casino as much as I can before it's all gone...

Casino and Carrefour are competing supermarkets.

Carrefour has never been a partner of Big C, they sold to Big C, in which Casino was a major shareholder, when they left Thailand, and for some time Big C continued some Carrefour products.

Soon after they were replaced with Casino products.

Few years ago Casino sold its majority shareholding to the owner of Thaibev

I buy Casinso's Peppered Smoked Mackerel  at Big C. It's gone from 189 Baht to 209 Baht.

As of today in Villa the same product was 129 baht. Go figure.

I saw a guy trying to pick off the 'new' shelf price label in the imported section of Big-CX yesterday, likely to get a look at the previous price. Bet he has been reading this thread.

My heineken bought at 711, Sukhumvit soi 11 was born on 9 March...2021.  So thank you Pattaya for drinking all the old ones.

Off topic.

Chocolate is hardly French food. Get Lindt from Tops or Tesco if you want something acceptable. Or buy Rillettes instead.

Disagree. IMHO it was very acceptable and best bang for buck.

As per my question to the posters concerned (who have not responded....) however that specific chocolate/packaging is not available and has not been available in Big C Extra for some months. I checked again tonight.......

Yes, my family is one of the biggest cheese makers in our state, and have been since my grandfather. ????

No, I never said it was. Neither did you. You said that you'd never had buffalo cheese, I pointed out that you probably have. Ever had a quality pizza?

Trying to follow a thread on here is practically impossible to do because of all the squabbling.

Yes, I have.  I have eaten mozzarella cheese, therefore cheese from a buffalo, just not mozzarella cheese from Thai buffalo milk.

It now appears JefferLos is not in Thailand, neither is his herd of "cows."   ????

Buffalo Mozzerella is produced in Thailand from Thai buffalo, so you never know.

Believe it or not 5 star restaurants and hotels here use Thai made mozzarella cheese.

https://www.delcasaro.com/ is a large supplier to top end hotels.

But, perhaps, you've never eaten at a five star establishment?
