BANGKOK (NNT) - The Public Health Ministry will make a study of Covid-19 vaccine efficiency among people who received the Sinovac or AstraZeneca vaccines, to learn more about their ability to build up immunity in the body.

Department of Medical Services (DMS) Director-General Dr Somsak Akksilp said results of the test project are expected to be known within the next two months and will help shape the government’s vaccine policy for the next 12 months.

He said the Covid-19 vaccines could not guarantee life-long efficiency to prevent further infections so this will be an important factor concerning the government’s policy for the next year while looking for a vaccine which is appropriate for Thais.

Dr Somsak said the study of vaccine efficiency will be done by the ministry team and its partners and will concern people who received the vaccine from both the Sinovac and AstraZeneca companies.

And will they be totally honest about the results?

99% of the people in power worldwide are not honest but follow their leaders and/or their own selfish goals.

People need to finally realize that the government is not our friend and we are just chess pieces for them.

this estimation should be ongoing and vax program should be adjusted continuously, not for 1 year.

it's clear from the manufacturers statements, that vax lasts sometimes over 1 year, but certainly life immunity was not never mentioned.

however, thai government allows shortened quarantine only for 3 months after the second shot, so they assume that after 3 months a booster is needed.

I wouldn't trust thai scientists - the above statement from this doctor and from actions of his government (which is acting on his advice) are contradictory and are making me not confident in their abilities to do any research.

us very usual in thailand, scientists and science are corrupted, under state control, poor quality and outcome can easily be censored, depending on the government current needs, and not truth

"People need to finally realize that the government is not our friend and we are just chess pieces for them."

Example, I 'won' the conscription ballot and completed army training then to Vietnam. Our mail from/to home was censored, sentences/paragraphs cut out, pages and news photos mentioned all removed from our mail. And more. Didn't take long for many/most nashos to realize we were just pawns in a political game to help our PM to appear to support a US president.
