Pol Capt Natthawat Kheuankaew of the Chang Pheuak police in Chiang Mai responded after two people were found dead in a car parked in Yan Potharam Road,  Soi 12.

The red Mitsubishi Lancer with no plates had its doors sealed up by tape and after a rescue foundation failed to be able to break in a window was smashed.

Wasuphat, 35, from Mae Jaen was dead apparently from smoke inhalation.

There were a lot of pillows and bedding and these were concealing the body of 24 year old Benjaporn from Chiang Dao.

Near the body of the man was a bottle of thinner, a stove and evidence of burning was found near his feet.

The lady had been stabbed ten times in the neck, chest, abdomen, ribs and beneath the breast.

A box cutter and hunting knife were found. It appeared that the man had killed the woman then taken his own life through smoke inhalation.

The couple lived nearby - there was a suicide note of sorts scribbled on the mirror in the unlocked room on the third floor.

There were no signs of a struggle in the room though bedding appeared to be missing.

The man's elder sister Thanyarat, 48, said her brother was a very jealous individual who argued frequently with his girlfriend who was a presentable and lovely lady.

He had threatened suicide on Facebook, reported Sanook.

An initial examination of the dead bodies indicated they had been deceased four or five days - this matched reports from people who had been unable to contact them for several days.

The exact place where the woman was killed is unsure.

The message on the mirror spoke of love.

But jealousy and its horrendous consequences seems yet again to have played its part, notes Thaivisa.
