The victims on the motorcycle were coming from downtown and were moving on a green light. It happened at 2 am.

A relative said that she was the hope for the family and they would not cremate her until the case had been resolved.

When driving in Thailand best to take the color of the lights with a grain of salt.

Always take a thorough look to make sure something is not speeding towards the lights and unlikely to stop. Saved me a few times.

About 4 years ago I was T-boned on my motorbike at a set of lights in Nakhon Sawan by 2 old ladies in an old pickup. The lights went green in my favour and off I went straight ahead when the pickup ran the red from my left side.

There was nowhere else I could go and I was hit under the back seat just missing my body by inches. Luckily there was a police box and the cop outside saw it happen so it was in my favour.

Will the driver face murder charges? ????

Going off comments on another thread it would seem a day teaching Thai to expats would be sufficient punishment.......he only ran a red light.......hardly his fault there was a motorbike in the way.........(sarcasm just in case it's not obvious)

Actually only two counts of Manslaughter as the Motorbike was overloaded, one death should not be counted,  as for the Car driver , emasculation seems the best way kill off that gene pool

3 manslaughter charges - 30 years, no parole.

And as for the relatives - 50 million each in restitution from the forces for one of their own killing 3 people.

Dream on.

The driver of the car apparently is a high ranking military officer. Interesting to see what the punishment will be, if any.

Mmmmm...let me think........sue to have the damage to his car repaired and the families of the dead students pay?

Is that a guess or do you know more than the news reporters?
