The government is facing public anger for its perceived failure to clamp down on the decadent lifestyles of certain government figures blamed for recent high-profile COVID-19 cases.

On Wednesday (April 7), Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob became the highest-ranking government official to come down with the virus. He insists he caught it up from his secretary, but rumours are running wild that he actually contracted the virus at a nightspot in Bangkok’s Thonglor area.

The hashtags #Saksayam and #Thonglorpubs were top-trending on Thursday as netizens demanded clear answers from the minister about his whereabouts and from the government on how it is controlling the spread of COVID-19.

I notice that even in a queue for covid testing they are standing there like sardines. No social distancing of two metres as recommended all the time.

Its ok folks.  Senior Government officials have access to the latest greatest vaccines.  No need to fear.  The rest of us are not worthy to comment or complain. ????

'It's all under control'....because The Big Pumpkin says so !

That these guys have fun is not a bad thing. They are doing the same as many foreigners who are here for the girls. So not  a problem at all. The problem is that they should be an example as how to behave in a Covid situation. That he broke the rules like that and the police allowed these venues to do so. That shows two tier justice. That is what i dislike. That is also what the public dislikes.

They don't care that these guys have fun with woman its normal they just care about the fact that they are told what to do covid wise while the rich don't seem to follow the same rules. Also him hiding it makes him look even more guilty.

Don't worry. They'll make up for it by being sure that farangs are strung out a couple miles to get into immigration.

Wait till their wives hear about it!  That's the only punishment they'll receive ordinary laws do not apply to them.

Their Wives are probably too busy in bed with their own Lovers to worry about what their Numpty Husbands are doing !

Karma for the Chidchobs stabbing Thaksin in the back in return for the lucrative transport ministry in 2008.

I imagine the response will be ' Well try and vote us out'

Overthrowing a government is, apparently, easier than running one.

Who knew?

They must be paying them for their services because many of their wives are pig ugly and fat.

This is what happens when accountability and transparency are eroded due to coups and lack of trust in subsequent democratic processes.

Cause and effect.

Fixed it for you ????

It seems the people have performed their role admirably in containing the virus to this point.  However it seems the public service response is limited to telling people to stay home.  How is the vaccine rollout going?  When can private hospitals get the vaccine?  When can Non Government organisations get involved?  How to keep the boarder better closed until we do?

Transport minister did not dislose where he was in 27-28.3. His explanation turns out a lie.
Cristal Club is called the government house 2, that's where they are socialising and spend free time. Yearly VIP membership is around 1mln.
That's why all 68 bumjaithai parliamentarians were ordered not to attend wednesday session and go into quarantine.
the very same day the transport minister went to hospital with 40c and turned out positive.
when symptomatic and in hospital it's much more difficult for them to lie, because their names become spotlight on social media. If they don't admit somebody will grass them.
They might try to hide in army or police hospitals, as well as their resorts, where there is much more privacy and better medical care. There are clinics exclusively for the government and ministries high ranking members.
Most of them have already one vax, but probably too late for a good protection, as it develops over time, for astra zeneca it's 12 weeks recommendation

He had one dose already and was due for second dose a day after he got ill

I thought all Government Ministers had been vacciated a few weeks back,.... unless they used the Sinovac, which has not been approved yet....

It would be so funny to see that all the government had to close for 14 days, as all the politicians were\

sick and in quarantine.  It would expose the hi so  as being almost as silly as regular people who gather in large crowds with no masks

or social distancing, and enough caught the virus as to infect the lot of them.  5555   I am just having my mid day fantasy, sorry...

Geezer
