Ice-pick in Thailand made me smile.

I still have a real one from my younger years on the glacier (about 40 years ago).

Still in good shape but I won't separate for nostalgic reasons.

For your purpose some kind of "pick-axe" should be sufficient?

( not sure whether this is the best word in English).

A thing like this:

https://www.lazada.co.th/products/-i283737590.html

Shouldn't that be found at hardware stores (big or small)?

The brand name above is very nearly an obsenity !

That's what you say when it slips and stabs your hand.

why not just do what everyone "else does" and samash the bag of ice on the floor or wall ? ????

I say: "honey, get ready, one, two, there".

Any old screwdriver would do the same job.

And using an old screwdriver to chip ice when serving cocktails to your guests will show them how cleaver and resourceful you are....

I don't have any old screwdrivers that are worth less than a new icepick...

I don't know but it is possible that the kitchen shop next to Foodland on Klang may sell that kind of thing.

I bought an awl at Home Pro.  Does all the little things you can do with an ice pick.

In case the sales folks at the store don't know what an awl is:

It's great for punching an extra hole in a leather belt, holes in the bottom of a plastic flower pot, chipping ice ... that sort of thing.  And, yeah, mine is a little corroded but it still works.

Or simply grind a point on an old screwdriver with an angle grinder.

Reading this headline made me smile.  Working in Holland in the early years of the 70's I toyed with the idea of setting up a Dutch Mountain Rescue Team.

Dutch mountains need rescuing?
