Tell me, when they ever get the vaccines in and you go for the jab and you ask them what vaccine are you jabbing me with and they refuse to tell you, will you proceed? This could happen, lets hope not. I am saying this because it happen to my brother and his wife in the USA.

They won't refuse to tell you.  Plus, it's clearly labeled on the vial.  Wow...

My brother is a pharmacist doing dozens of jabs every day.

yes of course, we close everything again so we collapse what remains of the economy and increase the number of unemployed And so they will all come to eat at your house. Will you feed them?  Easy to talk when you have a full stomach

the Thai government has the money to help these people.  a stimulus program like the one implemented in the U.S.  what do you think is propping up the Baht.

You are aware of incubation period, right? Seems not....

To say that one is asymptomatic of a deadly virus like Covid is like saying that Pneumonia sufferers won't have any symptoms AFTER the short incubation period.

The incubation period is not 100% defined yet.  Some show symptoms in a few days, others not for weeks, others not at all.

If you are asymptomatic, it means you HAVE the virus and are probably shedding.  Thus, putting others around you at risk.  These are the people creating the big problems.

P.S. Covid is nothing like the flu.

I watched it and the app is not made for foreigners as the app takes only 13 digit Thai ID number. Didn't try it though.

The big think I liked about that video was the status of the vaccines.  How many have been given, of what type, and what's coming up.

That app won't be rolled out until May and will probably change before then.  Assuming it even works....LOL

I cannot locate it using the instructions given. I think not current in formation. Also note that the app is not operational yet, supposed to debut 1 May

With millions around the world now infected with the UK strain I imagine it would be near impossible to trace.

Maybe the officials shook Boris Johnson's hand when in the UK?

Many maybes but point remains originated from the bar visited by government officials , more than likely quarantine breach of some kind

The government officials had visited a casino/brothel in Cambodia.  Obviously crossed the border illegally, and without getting tested on the way back in.  Went to Thong Lor to bars where they weren't obeying safety standards for Covid.  Bang....here we are.

Our school is scheduled to restart new year 12 May, I'm guessing that won't happen and we'll be back to online for our kids.

I wonder what percentage of Thai school children have access to online teaching in their homes?      We only recently bought  the Missus's son a laptop.

routinely putting people in hospital even with no symptoms is crazy. No wonder they are running out of beds. Pack them in  then watch cases fly. Lock downs don't work. As of noon today recovery rates in Thailand were were at 99.6% and deaths at point 04 %. Google Thailand virus stats and get to the hour reports. Stop the bloody panic.

to be clear i asked for Thai covid stats on duck duck go

This post, in case you have forgotten, is regarding requests to have a further lockdowm due to the 3rd wave of the UK discovered variant now raging here. Sorry if you can not see that and hence my sound reply to you that the Italian report you put up as evidence to drop restrictions here , was irrlevent and misleading to the this specific post. Deniers normally do attempt to promote something or anything for that matter to justify their stance.

Interesting wasn't aware they had been over to Cambodia, kinda makes you feel sick knowing this outbreak may have originated from this source

The traditional concept of honor and responsibility is "The captain went down with the ship": the passengers, the crews safety was of utmost importance & they left before the captain would consider his own exit.

Here it has been turned on its head. The captain and his pals all got vaccine shots first, as they are so essential to making bad decisions. Being immunized, they don't see any pressing need for rapid responses and vaccinations: not their lives endanger. "I got mine" should be their motto.

The outbreak in Chiang Mai last year was because of the same thing.  Thai workers were crossing without doing the necessary tests.  They were sick, and spread the disease.  Corruption gets us again.  The other time was due to Burmese workers being smuggled in illegally.  That was our 2nd wave.

I don't really care if your brother is a pharmacist. My brother and his wife were both teachers in NJ but they still refused to tell them what vaccine they jabbed with only when to come back for the second jab.

A large number of scientists have stated the the PCR test, if this is what they are using, is inaccurate and leads to many false positives. I'm repeating what many people already know. The inventor of the test himself stated as much. So, what tests are they using and if it's the PCR test, at what cycle?

it will be feasible to use contact tracing to squelch the outbreak.

Each time I go into a store I am ask to "contact trace" by filling out a slip of paper.  Can anyone honestly attest that this has done anything and there is a single person who has been identified and contacted as a result of it?

I'd say that was a one off.  I've never heard of any medical professional giving a jab without having a conversation with the patient about what's going on.  Maybe they were in a mass vaccination site?  Anyway, probably a one off or a very tired health care professional.

Not to mention you should get a vaccination card with the jab...sounds like a screw up.

Lots!  They do a pretty good job of contact tracing here.  Not fantastic.  But not bad.

Loved the one where they published the trail of an infected man over the course of a few days.  3 visits to a massage parlor, even published their name!  LOL

I have always felt that Thailand was more "lucky" rather than prepared for Covid.

I think many tend to look at the health service in Thailand through rose-tinted spectacles and overestimate its capacity to deal with any pandemic, which is very limited.

It isn't understood how Thailand has avoided a major epidemic and it is quite possible that new strains or variants could start off a chain of infection that could devastate the country.

Covid is on the increase on a world scale and Thailand is not immune. There is huge economic pressure to open up the country to both business and tourism but the risks involved appear to be getting greater by the day. They need to look at the infrastructure available to cope with this...hospital beds, quarantines/restrictions and a mass vaccination.

Source your information carefully.  Vet it.  And ignore everything on social media!!!

https://www.thejournal.ie/kary-mullis-pcr-testing-factcheck-debunk-hse-5271830-Nov2020/

FactCheck: Did the creator of PCR tests say they don't work for Covid-19?

Posts on social media have wrongly claimed that PCR testing is inaccurate and produces a high rate of false positive results.

He did not say that the PCR method wouldn’t work for Covid-19 infections or that PCR testing does not work. Comments attributed to him in these claims on social media were either not made by him or have been taken out of context.

Mullis died last year before Covid-19 was identified, and as such, could not have made any specific assertion about the use of PCR testing for Covid-19.

While I accept your view, I personally take the choice that we have to follow the path of the advice from the experts.

If you recall the "experts" have changed their minds repeatedly.  In the beginning, Fauci said masks were not effective, now suddenly they are.  The latest study from Stamford showed masks not effective and may even be harmful for a persons health because of breathing in bacteria on the soiled mask.

I am merely pointing out there are over 219 million cases of Malaria in the world each year, despite there being drugs to prevent it and effective treatments for it.  On average 9% of the world catches the flu each and every year, that is upwards of 750 million people.  That is despite vaccines being available.  In 2018 1.7 billion people worldwide contracted TB despite there being a vaccine.

But somehow there are those who cling to the belief that "This Time It Will Be Different"  and the vaccines will be our savior.
