I have not seen any pictures from France that bare any resemblance to the tragedy unfolding across India

I am more of a numbers guy, so I watch the worldometer rather than the gory news.

This 2000 a day of positive cases stinks. I've heard anecdotally that hospitals in Surat and other provinces are full with 100s / 1000S of cases.

 

The UK are doing 1.2 million tests a day (includes lateral flow), how many is Somchai doing?

Do you really believe that India and Brazil have the same number of daily deaths, even though India has 8 times the number of new infections?

Sorry...the point was the failure of the health service....he couldn't get admitted to hospital or even picked by ambulance without a positive test result......which he couldn't get because so few tests were available ....a classic Catch-22..........sorry if I frightened you.

I would agree with the exception that for many no work means absolutely no income.......and if they don't feel ill, the younger ones are less likely to self-quarantine.......

Selling news....social media driven. If this 'Pandemic' had happened 30 years ago I very much doubt it would have been noticed.

Deaths here appear to be happening much faster after diagnosis. I think part of that is that people are waiting too loo to test (or cant get a test), and getting very sick at home - 10/15 of the dead today got infected in the home. They they turn up to hospital on deaths door. Sad, because some may have survived if they sought treatment earlier.

Actually they don't.

India has between 2,500 and 3,000 daily deaths, while France has 300, yet with 20 times less people.

To be on par, India should have 6,000 daily deaths, which they may have, given the uncertainties regarding numbers over there.
