PHUKET: Passengers on specific flights between Phuket and Bangkok operated between Apr 15-26 have been urged to present themselves to a government hospital for a COVID test and observe any quarantine order by officials.

 

The Phuket office of the Public Relations Department (PR Phuket) announced the warning on its official Facebook page at 11:26pm last night (Apr 30).

 

The post noted that flights by AirAsia, Vietjet and Thai Smile were affected.

With the prospect of being immediately shipped off to a field hospital, I wonder how many will report?

Presumably they know exactly who was sat where from the plane's manifest and might still track them down?

Aren't the airlines constantly telling us how efficient their air filters are and that breathing air on a plane is like being in a hospital operating room? Thus no need to keep middle seats or alternating rows empty.

Certainly the UK government did.....their excuse for allowing 15 million arrivals after lockdown was introduced.

Hard to believe when just about everyone gets the sniffles after a flight of more than 4-6 hours.

If they used the loo on the plane, should they not be asking the entire flight to come forwards ?

Shouldn't they know the identity of passengers?

How did they book? Bogus ID card?

Sorry to say, but this typifies the Thai lazy and inefficient administration.  As said, they have all the details of all the passengers, the Authorities should be contacting them and ordering them to get tested within the next 24 hours of face heavy penalties!

Full article specifies 6 different flights to Phuket ,and 1 out ,so what is the common denominator here ? People who were tested positive on arrival ? Not just the person who sat in seat 6D unless a very frequent flyer ?

More chance of hat than all voluntarily going for a test.

That flight was 16 days ago... why even bother announcing it now ????

I doubt they change the expensive air filters regularly like there supposed to.

In case you were on that flight.  Symptoms can take two weeks or longer.

This is the second alert of this nature within a few weeks.

Did the Airlines / Airports not realize there was a flaw in the Boarding system the first time 

Time for the Czar to require middle seats to be empty again!

Passengers on 7 Phuket Flights Are Urged to Take Covid-19 Tests

 

 

PHUKET (NNT) - Authorities have asked 157 passengers on seven recent domestic flights to or from Phuket to take Covid-19 tests and go into quarantine as they were deemed at risk of exposure to passengers who were found to have been infected.

 

The Phuket Covid-19 information center on Saturday released seating charts showing the seat numbers and rows where passengers at risk were seated on all seven flights. The center urged anyone who had been on the flights to immediately take Covid-19 tests at hospitals near their homes.

 

The flights are Thai AirAsia flight FD3027 on April 15, Thai VietJet flight VZ401 on April 16, Thai AirAsia flight FD4110 on April 20, Thai Smile flight W285 on April 21, Thai VietJet flight VZ301 on April 23, Thai VietJet flight VZ316 on April 25, and Thai VietJet flight VZ308 on April 26.

 

Passengers who require further information are being asked to call 094-593-8875 or 062-243-5116.

Errr just over 20 px per flight ?

That in itself is a good reason not to fly anywhere at this time. Who wants to get "invited" for testing and imprisoned at a field hospital in case the test turns out positive. You'd have to be mad!

 

Who gave them the right to torture healthy people and damaging their healthy body by putting up their stick and causing harmful damages inside. You people who do this crime against humanity I hope u will get it back one day and pay for your ignorance.

So flying even domestically wasn't as safe as some predicted... 

Any flying is unsafe.  

 

For about the last 15 years....germs and disease spread since Aircraft Manfacturers promised the Airlines more fuel efficient engines and ACM's. "Buy our aircraft and you will make more revenue".

 

What they did not tell the traveling public or the cabin crews were increased risk of contracting sicknes by any airborne organism. 

 

So, all you brave people who are weary about contracting Covid 19 on a modern day aircraft.... we went backwards in Air Cycling Machines and Systems. 

 

Your chances went from 1 in 4 to 1 in 1.9 of contracting Covid or any flu upon an aircraft with sustained pressurized flight at altitude.

A "crime against humanity"? It is type of rhetoric that makes discussion meaningless. This was a selfish act that placed many people at risk. As such, it is equivalent to drunk driving. Both equally reprehensible, and deserving of consequences, but not a crime against humanity. What China did in terms of not properly managing this virus, that was a crime against humanity. And this all assumes that the person(s) infected was aware of their condition at the time they boarded the flight, an assumption not addressed by the article.

I guess taking the airlines word it's save is kinda like believing a used car salesman when he tells you the car is in perfect order.

 

If someone next to you sneezes, you better have a really good mask and hope you're not eating or having a drink.  The air doesn't get filtered that fast.  Not to mention touching surfaces, etc.
