Why Do Foreigners Fully Vaccinated Need To Be Quarantined ?

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

The CDC in the United States has stated that those who have been fully vaccinated the chances of spreading Covid are about nil. Can anyone please explain why foreign expats who have been denied easy entry for over a year. Will likely still be required to spend thousands of dollars for quarantine?

My hunch its all about $$$ since their quarantine was a complete failure.

You are in the wrong country if you still ask why something happens in Thailand. It happens, there is no "why". Get used to that and life becomes so much easier. And please don't ask why. ????

There's a story around where 8 vaccinated baseball players all caught COVID. If you can catch it you can spread it.   I believe the Thai authorities are correct in insisting on 14 days

I believe the Thai authorities are correct in insisting on 14 days quarantine for everyone.

Assuming you believe COVID is a serious problem.

Why! because the Czar is having a ball with ASQ presumably at the asylum just after the circus show ????

It's a misconception that vaccinated people can't be infected by the virus ever again.

The first dose of vaccination is the mild first attack. The second dose of vaccination is the stronger second attack to strengthen your immune system even more.

That's why it is not sufficient to have just the first dose because your immune system is just not strong enough yet.

I saw some misleading propaganda that such and such vaccine is ineffective because they got the virus  after the first shot.

Vaccination means that your body recognize the virus the third time a real virus attacks your body.

You will still get infected but your immune system is more ready to fight it and probably takes a few days to kill all the Covid virus in your body.

So that means you can still infect others with the virus before all the virus in your body is killed by your immune system.

Liken it to taking a birth control pill or shot but told you could still get pregnant anyway...

It's very much the same - only worse....Probably a bad analogy...

They either don't have the tools on hand to stop this thing, or they are suppressing, or not tracking results that could negatively affect their market share....

The truth seems to be whatever the best sound bite or guess at that particular moment....

More questions than verifiable answers....

Do you have a link to where they've stated that?  Latest information I recall reading was that about 70% of AZ vaccinated folk could get infected and 50% of Pfizer vaccinated (the numbers might not be spot on but it gives you the idea).  These infections will be very mild, with perhaps no symptoms at all, due to the vaccine, but while infected they can still spread to others.

Quarantine is therefore needed to minimise that spread.

Right, and just at what point do you run with it ? Some point you have to take a chance with it. With constant mutation your suggesting locking down the planet forever potentially  with no opening solution other than 28 days quarantining for travellers - which is daft.

Vaccinate what you can for the next 6 months and open the planet. Its too long now and any more risks worse.

Probably because there is no way to prove the farang has been vaccinated. They are working on somesort of vaccine passport. I've got a email receipt - you can see how that will be a problem.

I can prove it now just check me before and after the flight good enough. We have families that are waiting for us over a year who refused to pay ransom to see our families. Any hotel in Nakhon Nowhere would work.

Same situation as you and also refuse to pay ransom to see my kids again. Never thought that Thai leaders could do this to families, it's a big shame, hope that they get the Karma they deserve.

The government doesn't  believe that these vaccines work so have to quarantine.

8 fully vaccinated Yankees just tested positive.

This virus is more than 90% similar to SARS and there was no effective vaccine for SARS and they tried to develop one.

These vaccines now came out fast and are designed to give people confidence and hopefully one of them works but

as far as I am concerned, it hasn't happened.  Confidence is what drove the stock markets to the moon  and

real estate prices to Pluto. Take away any hope of a vaccine working and hell is here.

No it isn't good enough.  The incubation period can be as long as 14 days, hence the need for quarantine.  You wouldn't want to get back and infect your family.

if the Jabs were a legit vaccine, then there wouldn't be any brick wall put up to stop the WHO Yellow Innocs Book from being used for it...

YES thank you, could not have written it better  your right on the mark you can get the virus but not as deadly and wont end up in hospital

Report of early studies on the BBC were stating that first jabs can reduce your potential to transmit the virus by about 40%. It was still only a very small study group.

Much less likely to spread Covid IF your have been fully vaccinated. Your body’s viral load will be much much lower. So although there is a small chance you could still spread it, it’s not very likely.
There is also a small chance you and your passenger on motorbikes could get badly injured and killed from a motorbike accident.

All motorbikes should be BANNED !   Any actions that have risks should be outlawed.

after the second vaccination the threshold of the viral load will not reached to in order for someone to become infectious

New CDC Study: It’s Rare For Vaccinated People To Spread COVID-19

According to the CDC, the study found an infection rate of 0.04 infections per 1,000 fully vaccinated participants per day. Among participants who had only been partially vaccinated, the rate was 0.19 infections per 1,000 participants per day. In unvaccinated people, the rate jumped to 1.38 infections per 1,000 participants per day.

The study’s findings suggest that, contrary to early concerns, individuals who have received a COVID-19 vaccination are unlikely to contract an asymptomatic COVID-19 infection and thus pass the virus on to non-vaccinated people.

I wouldn't trust too much on these 'research' that were probably paid by Pfizer/Moderna so that people rush to get vaccinated.

Common sense on how the virus and vaccine work is more important.

The “Yellow Book” is good. I also have mine.
But I also use “Vaccine Record for Travelers” app by Dr. Deb the travel doctor, from the App Store.  My first Covid Pfizer-BioNTech Covid shot is now recorded there, together with a Hi-Def photo of the printed signed document of my shot.  Waiting for my second shot…..then live free with no mask again. ????????????

I keep all my basic vaccine  and booster records there, and record all my Tropical vaccine records there, up-dated. And keep a record in two “Cloud” services.

I suspect the government is not worried about you getting it after being vaccinated. They are worried about you carrying it and giving it to others who have not been vaccinated, like your kids, who give it to their friends and their friends' families and... Well, you see how it goes.

Yeah…. It’s all a conspiracy by “Big Pharma”.  And those all those thousands of scientists, lab workers, Epidemiologists, doctors and “ Big Pharma” employees are in on it.  Wait..my tin foil radio wave radiation beanie hat is a bit loose.

Have you seen the plain paper card that the CDC came up with as your evidence of being vaccinated?  Anyone with a computer and printer could fake it in 5 minutes.

I blame the CDC for not coming up with something a little difficult to fake.  With the yellow fever vaccine I at least got an official sticker from the vaccine vial as proof.

"There's a story around where 8 vaccinated baseball players all caught COVID.

If you can catch it you can spread it."

This is both true and quite misleading.

They are all asymptomatic, which as we also know, are not high-risk vectors. And remember, we are talking positive test results, not illness, which since the creation of the term "case," means having symptoms of the illness.

Rare breakthroughs
"Of the more than 95 million people in the United States who were fully vaccinated, only 9,245 — or 0.01 percent — have been infected with the coronavirus as of April 26, according to the CDC. Just over a quarter of those people never had symptoms; 132 people, or 1 percent of the breakthrough infections, died. Twenty of those deaths were in asymptomatic people or probably not related to COVID-19."

Coronavirus-covid-vaccines-breakthrough-infections-variants

Remember also that no vaccine is 100% effective.

Saying that you can catch covid and spread it after vaccination is misleading and fearmongering. Are you suggesting that vaccines don't work? Sure sounds like it.
