Most people use supermarkets and restaurants and markets. Well done for avoiding them. However that does not change the fact that they are essential for most people and that alcohol is only essential for alcoholics.

Im not against alcohol or other drugs but right now opening bars and other places where alcohol is served is too high a risk.

Those that really need a beer can still buy it in the supermarket. I think the larger problem is that a lot of sexpats have nothing better to do and are now bored crazy.

I hope for them and the people working in the industry that vaccination rolls out fast and things can go back to a relative state of normal.

Oh your usual alcohol and sexpat posts.

Predictable and very boring.

Granted bars should not be opened.

A glass of wine with meal in a restaurant is very dangerous. I often start throwing chair through windows.

I just reply to the boring the bars need to open posts. Never did i start a post first about the subject.

Maybe you feel its boring because you need your wine.

But sure i said it before 1 glas of wine or beer is not a problem. Problem is there is no way to  limit it to one glass. So they ban it all.

I can see the tricks now.. multiple bills saying there were more people ect ect.

I never killed anyone when high on drugs yet that does not mean drugs are safe. (yes been high on several drugs back in the Netherlands). You fail to realize that laws are made for the most stupid people. Not people like you or me who can stop at one glas of wine / beer or can use drugs without doing damage. Unfortunately many can't and those spoil it for all as enforcement will be totally impossible.

Seems we do see eye to eye about bars so you do seem to understand that people getting drunk / tipsy is not a good way to combat the virus.

So now if restaurants can serve wine don't you think it will open up for all kind of abuse ? Policing will be impossible. Restaurants will become the new bars. That is the problem not a glas of wine with a meal. The fact that people will use it as a loophole.

I'm starting to wonder if only Thais are being included in the death numbers and not foreign workers.

14 bodies will be cremated at a local temple this wk (adjacent province to BKK). 10 already and 4 tomorrow. The bodies are from BKK and come in specialised biohazard refrigerated ambulances with police escort. In attendance at the cremation are the ambulance drivers and some monks. All in full PPE.

Thanks. Now I understand your issues in other threads.

Excellent work you gave up drugs.

I'm sitting on Thai beech with a tequila sunrise listening to Eagles playing same song.

It would seem you to are taking a drug. Please argue that alcohol is not a drug.

So your doing drugs too.. I mean your doing the hard drug alcohol ? Well done.

Of course it's a drug and  causes many deaths.

Same as most drugs it is connected to personality traits and even our make up.

Best example perhaps gambling. For some it's a hobby for some an extreme addiction.

Definitely some folk should avoid alcohol at all costs.

The Lat Prao Mall has been identified now as not being Central Lat Prao.  The news on Channel 27 says that from now on instead of just saying a mall cluster was found without giving the name, that will now be changed to actually include the name to avoid confusion.  The interesting thing is the malls in that area are right next door to each other and hundreds of stores are in the location where people congregate daily.  It is also a major hub location for Transit on Phyayothin Road

Drugs are substances gambling isn't. Addictive behaviour is present in both.

You missed the point. Anything can become extremely addictive and destroy lives. Alcohol (drug) even for those that drink everyday can be walk in the park.

Depends on the individual.

Clearly you haven't been on meth.

Nor have I but dealt with those folk.

Referring to alcohol as a hard drug just displays some historical issues.

No havent been on meth and alcohol is classified as a hard drug. Sorry can't help you there scientist did not do that.

Anyway its way off topic. But alcohol just makes breaking the rules that much easier and that is just a fact. I am certainly not against alcohol or most other drugs. As long as people don't bother / endanger others.

Anyway its just not a good idea to open bars and you agree with that so I don't see what the problem is. I am not against a wine with your diner just saying they banned it because it creates loopholes and makes enforcement hard.

Mind numbing Insanity.

Great  to see the people  back on the beaches in  chonburi this evening, walking, swimming, just  living like they  should  be. Beautiful evening too ,fantastic ????????

39 deaths  /  3886 cases  =  .001 or 1%

100%  -  1%  =  99% survival rate

are you scared yet?

Thai Prime Minister to discuss plans of pilot tourist provinces reopening in Thailand, including “Phuket Sandbox” tourism project, at CESA meeting tomorrow

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O’Cha is planning to discuss the reopening of pilot tourist provinces in Thailand during an online conference with the Center for Economic Situation Administration (CESA) tomorrow, June 4th.

The discussion will include the latest preparations to reopen and welcome vaccinated foreign tourists in the pilot provinces, including Phuket’s “Phuket Sandbox” project, as proposed by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

Phuket and the Thai Tourism Authority are still planning to open to foreign vaccinated tourists on July 1st, although many details and requirements will need to be fleshed out over the next four weeks.

Good to hear that Covid-19 will be eradicated come 01 October.

Thailand's tourism and sports minister has stood up in parliament to pledge that foreign tourists will not need to quarantine when visiting Thailand from October 1st.

It applies to ten tourism provinces that in the past provided the bulk of revenue from tourists.

The minister was addressing lawmakers as part of the budget debate.

Gotta hand it to the man he has been dreaming big since Covid closed the doors on tourism.  The old adage of "Go big or go home" applies.  Should he fail in his venture in thinknthe man should retire to a tropical island where he can drink Mai Thais......

According to flat earthers yes but no. I got stuck next to a half drunk one in a bar one night and got told all about it. I made an excuse and left.

Im doing the same thing, in a bungalow overlooking the Andaman for 3.5 months now, several times changed my flight back to Bangkok ( now open ), no jabs to be had, and the covid case mess up there may as well be in the fresh air and minimal people.

So you accept that most "sexpats" (not you of course) as you call them are not alcoholics.
