Thai media reported that the Hua Hin Ban Rao site announced that all private schools in Hua Hin would remain closed until July 1st.

The opening for Term 1 of the new academic year has already been delayed now parents face further time with their children at home.

The news came via the private school association's Chanothai Charoenneuang.

The reasons are threefold - continuing Covid-19 infections, concern from parents about reopening and the fact there has not been enough vaccine to inoculate teachers at private schools.

Meanwhile the deputy governor of Prachuap Khiri Kkhan province has reportedly followed up the prosecution of Maya Pub where a large cluster of Covid-19 cases followed the March 30th Joey Boy concert.

Officials filed a police complaint on April 11th but there has been no progress and the officials in the province want to know why the foot dragging.

It was also reported that three other pubs in the area where there were Covid cases continued to operate in early April without any action whatsoever.

These included Line Up, Raroeng Cheun Bar and Thong Suk.

Clearly some areas are being more prudent than others

Confusion rules!

The first semester for academic year 2021 will go ahead on June 14 and will not be postponed again, Education Minister Treenuch Thienthong announced on Wednesday.

“The ministry has tasked all schools to prepare for the reopening and adjust their teaching based on one or more of five approaches to suit the situation in their respective area,” she said.

The five approaches are:

1. On-site: schools offer teaching at their facilities as usual.

2. On-demand: teaching is provided via mobile applications.

3. Online: teaching is provided online via the internet.

4. On-hand: lesson and exercise materials are delivered to students at home.

5. On-air: teaching is provided via satellite TV programmes to students in remote areas.

“Schools that choose the on-site approach must prioritise the safety of students from Covid-19 and provide necessary facilities such as hand-washing stations and spaced seating in classrooms to maintain social distancing,” Treenuch said.

Out here in Issan I'm teaching online through groups on Line messaging. Students type answers, or photo their notebooks, or record clips. It's been fun. They all tell me "see you on the 14th". Doesn't appear to be any stopping it.

The Teachers at my Daughters School in Chonburi were Vaxxed yesterday.

And then the School says it will not reopen on 14th june.

In a way I am glad the School is not being opened, as the Teachers will have only taken one shot of Vaccine that has not had the 2-3 weeks time in the body to be effective

Usual total confusion, instead of one clear concise message to all.

No self interests in doing anything?

So it seems the MOE are leaving it up to individual provinces. We should hear about Bangkok tomorrow.

It seems that way. Some of those provinces outside of the dark red zones still have problems and flareups. There should be no problems opening up schools in rural areas that have very few or no cases. With Bkk's cases hovering around 2000-25000 for over a month, with no sign of decreasing, I would be suprised if we can even open in July.
