Dear forensic doctor, let´s think one of the deceased you swabbed, died in a traffic accident, you swab him and he happens to have Covid.

Death tolls are certainly higher than gov figures, but all having Covid or antibodies for Covid do not die for that reason.

Just follow the international standard of reporting death related to covid, read related to Covid!

Because they have never told the truth about anything,

And by reporting low figures they are hoping they can open up to Tourists, as the Economy is in a critical mess, as toooo many snouts in the trough...

Fact is allowing in fully vaxxed people wouldn't harm anyone here ... the danger would be to the vaxxed tourist with lower immunity against delta ...

From the article

He admitted that even at Ramathibodi Hospital, forensic doctors could not conduct swab tests on all the dead victims, because they could not ask for a refund of their costs from victims who died before their arrival at the hospital.

Well there you go if your on your death bed leave some money in your pocket so you death will be added to the count.

Are you talking about the previous USA President's actions and willful inactions to try to help his re-election chances?  His is the blue print being followed in this situation.

Just this morning a "genius" was telling me "The Democrats are pushing this Covid nonsense. Its how they control us."

How many Democrats in China, or any of the other 200 odd nations in the Covid world?

Roughly 57% are nominally democratic, but only 22 obtain the full measure of a minimum of eight or more out of ten defined characteristics, per The Democracy Index.

You seem to have missed yours apparently.  Life is what it is and being able to discuss issues is part of life and this forum.  If you believe otherwise then maybe you should not look at it and then troll and bait others.

jumping up and down yelling "I/we told you so" is not discussing issues.

Please take your medicine or not look at my posts then troll and bait.

For the first time since this circus started 18 months ago I'm seriously considering heading back to the UK to get vaccinated.

My concern is the diminishing number of ICU beds. Once they are full, as is already happening, and you are unfortunate enough to need one you are totally effed.

We moved out June 9th. With current corrupt govt, Thailand is a failed state. Time and time again the  lying generals have done exactly the opposite of what the situation called for.

The latest fiasco is letting infected Bangkok construction workers return to the provinces from which they came from. As the workers have come from all over, that’s where COIVD has now gone - all over.

This now ensures COVID clusters will be even harder to contain. The mortality rate will spike, dwarfing the double digit figure we currently see.

With the absence of a vaccine rollout due to the absence of a vaccine, the govt just sits and watch, allowing this avoidable tragedy to unfold.

Thailand recently announced a US$11billion in support for the economy. Why didn’t they take this money and buy effective vaccines?

(My guess is that the support funds are easier to manipulate and divert to friends and relatives. Had they bought vaccines for the people, they would actually had to come up with the goods.)

Get out while you can. Thailand will be one of the last countries to come out of this. (Before the April Songkran turning, they were going to do a documentary on Thailand’s success story. Perhaps they will  now do one on its spectacular failure story.)

You got a source that has those vaccines on offer right now?

Do you know where else one needs to line up at ten o'clock at night to try and get a test the next day?...

In my area in the US, some pharmacy store chains have test kits and also testing from your car at the drive-through pickup window.  Total tests in the US to date:  470,926,220.  Of course with 35,798,067 positive tests, it was necessary.   Medical professionals and old folks (and staff) get tested multiple times if they are exposed.

The truth is an elusive and often ugly concept. Whatever it actually is on this and many other things, I'm pretty sure we aren't being told it. That seems to be par-for-the-course these days, lies and more lies just to keep people at home and placated that all is well.

So what is the deal with the new announcement on TV tonight about jabs for health care and vulnerable over sixties, including foreigners?

Will they try another registration scheme?????

So why haven't they stopped inter-province travel?

The "lockdowns" don't appear to be very "locked".

Had you kept up with the news, both the private hospitals and the govt reported being in talks with the drug manufacturers as far back as late 2020.

Ok here it is spoon-fed:

The government has previously said it would order 20 million doses of the Pfizer (PFE.N)/BioNTech (22UAy.DE) vaccine.”

https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/thai-covid-19-vaccine-rollout-will-go-ahead-time-minister-2021-06-01/

Also why is it that Singapore lined up in late 2020 to get Moderna, while Thailand wouldn’t hear of it:

Lee said his government started working "behind the scenes" to line up vaccines early on in the pandemic. He said it reached out to pharmaceutical companies, set aside more than 1 billion Singapore dollars ($750 million) and "placed multiple bets" with early down payments. He cited Moderna and Sinovac as two other suppliers Singapore is looking at.

You continue to argue that no avenues were open to Thailand and that it had to take what was available (Sinovac) at the time. Again parroting govt spin.

Follow the links to the original comment from the doctor and you will see there is not a single mention of a traffic accident. In the UK Covid deaths are actually deaths within 28 days of a positive test and certainly will not include traffic accidents. That number is understated too, currently 128,365. But deaths where Covid was written on the certificate are 152,725. Thailand death number always were very much suspect as understated earlier in the pandemic.

And have any deals actually been concluded? And if so, what are the projected dates of delivery?

Well once the water breaks isn't delivery kind of imminent, or am I thinking of something different here..

Actually not. I'll see if I can track it down, but no deals have even been concluded yet. And according to an article I read yesterday, no new orders for mRNA will be fulfilled before 2022. There may be other vaccines that Thailand could look into. Novavax comes to mind. It was very successful in Phase 3 trials.  But I don't know that any of the new ones including Novavax that have conducted Phase 3 trials  include significant numbers of people exposed to the Delta variant.

Yes. Thailand is fast becoming the global hub for all western vaccines. Expect it to lead the way in immunizing it’s entire population by month’s end, reaching herd immunity, possibly as early as next Tuesday, according to the Health Minister.

And the kicker - that all expats like yourself will be able to receive the vaccine of their choice including the marvelous Chinese  duo, Sino-no-dee and Sino-no-dum, at their nearest 7-11. No registration necessary, just bring along yr passport.

By year-end the daily infection rate of close to 10k and close to triple digit deaths will be a distant bad memory. There’ll be dancing in the streets!

Aren’t you glad you asked? ????
