Popular Post webfact
video screenshot The US Charge d'Affaires Michael Heath went on Facebook with a speech in Thai after it was announced that the US will be donating free and efficient vaccine supplies in a spirit of friendship and cooperation to the Thai people. Sanook went with the Thai written translation for their readers without much further comment. ASEAN Now earlier reported that there was perhaps a stipulation that a proportion of the donation would be for foreigners in Thailand. In Mr Heath's speech there was no mention of that, of numbers, of Americans receiving the vaccine or any other nationality. The English text is below: Message from U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Michael Heath on U.S. Vaccine Donation As the US embassy announced yesterday, we are proud to be donating safe and effective vaccines to Thailand without conditions. It is part of the Biden administration’s commitment to help our allies fight COVID. This donation marks another important milestone in our bilateral relationship and is a visible symbol of our long-standing alliance. The United States is proud to help Thailand fight the pandemic. I would like to recognize the effort of Thailand’s medical personnel, nurses, and health volunteers in curbing the outbreak. Let me be clear, this is the government-to-government agreement. There is no intermediary in the conversation. The White House, the State Department and the embassy are working directly with the MFA and the MOPH on this donation. We are working very hard to get safe and effective vaccines to the Thai people. I look forward to sharing good news with you soon. Americans will always stand side-by-side with Thais. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2021-07-09 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 1

Wow!. 1.5 million booster shots for the Thai Parliament. That would mean that roughly 1 out of every 45 Thai citizens is a member of the Thai Parliament. Impressive! 2 1

That is clearly how people, especially in this region, see it. The US looks weak and incapable of protecting its own people. All you need do is compare, for example, what happened a couple of years ago, when a Thai immigration officer slapped a Chinese man in the face. The entire Thai government turned out to apologize and planes from China were greeted with gifts and leis for the passengers. American indifference towards its citizens means Americans in Asia will soon be the new "coolies." 14 1 1

"...we just got given free vaccines and we don't have to give any away to American in Thailand or nothing...ha ha...idiots" Why do Thailand always need to have stipulations and contract for donations. Just do the right thing and allocate 20% to US citizens (I am not US) in Thailand.

All 360,000 of them. 2 jabs apiece, that's half the generous donation for services to be rendered. There's no such thing as a free jab and right now, they're coming in thick and fast. 3 2

The French gov't giving their citizens J&J is looking after their citizens, but does the Chinese providing Sinovac truly count as looking after their own? At best, Sinovac only provides a false sense of security, and Thailand has already committed to a Pfizer boost to Sinovac vaccinated front line workers because of its ineffectiveness. 2

Get real..... do you think the Chinese government would even consider giving a non-Chinese vaccine? And would Chinese citizens want an American or other non Chinese one? Not likely.... even Chinese in Singapore are asking for the non-approved Chinese jab.

But it gives me an idea to put forth to my embassy, i.e., doing nothing looks weak; doing something for the country's citizens in Thailand, especially with a superior vaccine (whether you believe it or not) makes a strong statement, like we'll match you, CCP, and do you one better (well, I was thinking of something more colourful, ahem). MayBeNow
This whole covid nonsense. Yes people die from covid, average age is around 80 in the West, and thats around the same age as non covid deaths. News flash, people need to die of something when they are old and or frail. Covid and its impact is totally blown out of its tiny proportions. Only thing covid did to me is reinforcing my idea that 95% of people are sheep and easy targets for media propaganda. Ok, back to gardening while i watch trucks of covid victims being shipped to massgraves. Edited July 9, 2021 by MayBeNow 2 2
