Of course one should not wear a mask while going to the gym. I gave up on working out when they said a mask is mandartory. I Got enough troubles as is while doing a heavy set of exercise.

 

Roids probably don't help against covid Though staying in shape like you said does. Roids only help against burns (they were were first used to treat burn victims and roids often help people with injuries recover faster. But that is different from a virus).

 

No gym I have been in was packed but that is bangkok more upscale gyms (think they are all closed now) I workout at home now in my home gym with some friends. It pays to stay in shape and work some of the stress away.

Let me try to save a few hundred posts:

 

There isn't enough testing. 

 

The real number of infections is much higher. 

 

I had COVID early last year, and it was just like the flu. No, I was never tested. 

 

The authorities are not handling the vaccination campaign well.

Not enough Farangs are being vaccinated.

Except that reported cases from testing are double the normal. Either they are testing more, or the positivity rate has doubled.

All this chit chat re staying fit and exercise regularly is very much a side issue.

 

Many of the most vulnerable are not in position to turn a switch on exercise wise.

Some due to mobility issues. Some underlying heath problems etc etc.

 

All the gym folk no need to outline your programs and preach healthy living.

I can understand if business owners require it. However that would not account for such long queues.

I just spoke with a nurse friend of mine, she works at a Government hospital ( Victory monument area ), 2 nurses in the Covid ward have tested positive, her brother works at another government hospital BKK area and 4 medical staff testing positive....

Thinking this through, no one with mild symptoms should be tested. If you have mild symptoms, just isolate at home, same as if you had the flu. 

 

Unless you want to sleep on a cardboard box.

Given favipiravir and sent home to isolate with testing again later or if they become ill arrange for an ambulance to get them to a treatment center.

That's funny... I supposedly was on their contact list for a "private" vaccine. Never heard peepers from them re any of that.

Bottom line. Personally if I had no symptoms or even mild symptoms I would not go and try to be tested.

 

I would self isolate(for the benefit of others) and monitor my situation.

 

Not comparing countries but if I was in Oz and had symptoms I would would present for testing.

Unfortunately I don't believe that many Thai would be in the situation to self Isolate, especially those living in Bangkok.
