webfact Posted July 11, 2021 Posted July 11, 2021 By Woraprat Lerpaisal BANGKOK (NNT) - The Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has reported that Thailand has the 8th highest number of serious or critical COVID-19 cases in the world, as defined by worldometers.info CCSA spokesman Dr Thaveesilp Visanuyothin announced a jump in the number of patients with severe symptoms to 2,738, with 717 on ventilators. Thailand also logged 9,326 new cases and recorded 91 fatalities on 10 July. Bangkok has the most, with 3,191, followed by 672 in Pathum Thani, 603 in Samut Prakan, 551 in Samut Sakhon, 359 in Chon Buri, 334 in Nonthaburi, 225 in Songkhla, 207 in Lop Buri, 175 in Saraburi and 173 in Pattani. Bangkok also led with the most deaths (51), followed by Samut Prakan (9), Nonthaburi (8), Pathum Thani (5) and Nakhon Pathom (4). The CCSA also reported new clusters in three provinces, namely at a tap water plant in Ayutthaya’s Bang Pa-in district, Sompob market in Nakhon Pathom’s Sam Phran district, a plastics plant in Nakhon Pathom’s Nakhon Chaisri district and at an electronics company in Ratchaburi’s Ban Pong district. -- © Copyright NNT 2021-07-12 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 2
Popular Post sezze Posted July 11, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 11, 2021 Not that the situation in Thailand is looking good , but i am afraid this info on worldometers is not 100% correct . What 1 country counts critical is for another country only a hospital case . Since they also put "positive" cases in a hospital in Thailand ( still correct ?) , i am thinking like , oh he/she gets sick ( ok really sick )"that's a critical case" . Even the death numbers are far from correct everywhere , let alone counting the criticals . Countries who did have massive waves before , got now a lot more knowledge on who is critical , just need extra care , just a hospital bed , or ok . 2 2 2
Popular Post sezze Posted July 11, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 11, 2021 If you do not believe , rank the map to "active cases" and you see there Thailand is on the 19th spot , and you see massive , really massive differences between the active cases and the critical cases , some countries not even give any statement on critical cases ( like Indonesia ) . I can imagine heavy vaccinated countries having large amount of actives/criticals , but not for many others on the list . I do check worldometers regularly , but mainly only for infection/deaths , and more important , trends on specific countries . Might not be the best even for it , but it is very easy to use . 3

ThailandRyan Posted July 11, 2021 Posted July 11, 2021 Yesterday 771 on ventilators that's critical and not very good. How many other countries have their ICU's filled like Thailand does. 1

Mind you with the spread to other provinces thanks to the Bangkokians then I suspect we shall eventually see similar scenarios in many other provinces unfortunately 2 2

Money over health it would appear 8 1

Try again, your showing your inability to comprehend full ICUs and many on respirators. Thus those who need treatment are not getting it immediately and people are starting to die at home. Your view is not mine so I will agree to disagree, so troll away 2 1
Popular Post sezze Posted July 11, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 11, 2021 Like i said , Thailand stats aren't good , no doubt about it . The amount of people on ventilators is indeed not low . Having said that , they are now at how many deaths per day +/-90 . Thinking about the 1st waves we had in Europe we are talking loads more , and for a country like Thailand ( 70 mill population) , i am not looking up until we see at least 500 death per day . This is not a competition , and it would be very bad , but that are the numbers in which every single person except a blind can see how bad it really really is . I remember in my village the undertaker / death announcement which normally is like 3-4 per week went up to 20-30 . Newspapers who do give some death announcements , before is like half a page suddenly went up to 4-5 pages full . And then you see Thailand , where nothing happened so far . They did call this a 3th or 4th wave while they had nearly no infection so far . You will certainly know when it gets really bad . 5

Please define so that we may make our own informed judgement of your post Personally I would define "uncivilised" as barbaric, savage, violent and without an effective moral code. Thailand by that ( my preferred definition) is most definitely not uncivilised. However, if one concentrates on the root word "civil" in the sense of good governance, honest and fair conduct by those in leading positions, concern for the less fortunate In society, universal and equitable application of the law, fiscal probity and so on, (including unadjusted and transparent reporting of statistics) then... This is hitting close to home with friends and relatives now in ICU's, dying, and then those who thought they were protected by being double vaccinated with Sinovac also becoming very ill, like my GF's 2 aunts who were on ventilators, but did recover enough to be removed from the ventilators and are still healing but not out of the woods by any means, and they are only in their early 50's. 5 1
Caldera Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 A direct result of the botched vaccination campaign. Sadly it will take quite a while to see these numbers improve. 2

Scott Tracy Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 This is not a competition to be number 1 is it? We're only number 8 boys, we need to do better.

Please stop your hatred against Bangkokians, as most cases in Bangkok are among migrant workers from other provinces, sent here to support their families back home in Ubon Nowhere.
