The main point however, because I know I won’t convince you of the obvious infection rate curves (they don’t just drop to 0 when countries lockdown, do they), is… the one and only effective tool we have right now is vaccines. That’s is. There is no other tool short of barring people’s doors for three weeks, which only places like China can pull off. So, vaccine is the only tool available. That should be the one and only focus. All time and resources should go to that. 1

I assume that you are aware that the government has been caught decreasing cases by not reporting thousands of prisoner cases in prisons, for weeks on end, and many would say that every day they deliberately keep cases, and deaths, low by not reporting them. Why would they do that if they want to generate fear? your concept of daily case numbers constituting government control by fear, isn’t born out by facts. it's because you are not there yet, we went through the same cycle as you are starting now, so I can only tell you with a 12 months lead insight, we all thought that covid daily stats were "re-assuring" and giving us "guidance" but at the end it didn't and now it's clearly documented in Europe by doctors that it was actually increasing anxiety in people. Eventually responsible European "governments" started to "evade" the stats game, and focused their attention on something else (like medical solutions) and finding support among the population for new solutions. They realized that the fear game was starting to backfire. My ex and her family are en-route to Phuket as we speak to do 14 days in the Sandbox before flying up to Udon Thani to check on the family there and the new house build that her new husband is financing. Looks like they may be stuck in Phuket as well. They needed to go back by August 5th to the US as our daughter starts High School. A true ClusterCluck, as I will be unable to see my daughter it appears as she was going to stay here in BKK for a few days.

They realized that the fear game was starting to backfire. Thailand is not there yet, and so aren't you, but let's revisit this thread in a few months, because things are just about to hit the fan So let’s sum up where we stand then. 1. You have given up on your assertion that people aren’t interested in Covid stats. Very wise since the mere existence of this thread show that they are 2. You have moved away from your “government control by fear” theory. Also wise, since the Thai government has always sought to downplay the pandemic by limiting testing and even to the extent of deliberately concealing cases. Hardly conducive to inciting fear. 3. With the elimination of 1, and 2 above, goes the concept of actually suppressing Covid information in order to prevent government fear control. That was always contradictory and nonsensical from the start. now we are at the point where you simply want to provide mental well being advice based on your considerable experience because, you aren’t even in Thailand. How inconvenient for you that the first recorded case of Covid outside of China was……..in Thailand. So whichever European country you are in, Thailand has been dealing with Covid for longer. in any case, despite the nonsense within your first post, I would like to thank you for your well wishes and advice. 2

So if not doing it early and hard, there had better be an alternative plan. Otherwise you get the mess we have now in Thailand. Having missed the early and hard opportunity, the virus runs out of control. those who advocated for no lockdown are often the ones who express sadness at spiralling numbers of deaths. But deaths are inevitable if the virus is left unchecked. 2
