Wow lost for words but again no surprise. I still would like to know the true numbers in Thailand.

We know the numbers on the general public, officially , and now the prisons too, what is missing is the numbers in the military!

It would be more informative if there was a chart showing the covid stats of all provinces throughout Thailand but there again I suppose there is no point if we cannot rely on the testing reports .

I think we might just have a different definition of what constitutes a lockdown. I need to operate with freedom, and anything that constrains that irritates the hell out of me. But I realize that most others on here see it differently than I do and have a stricter definition of what a lockdown is.

You tend to stan support Singapore quite a lot. And so do I. But I generally hesitate to say with certainty that what worked there will necessarily work in other cities/countries. The Singapore situation is too unique.

Yeah, I guess the place suits me. I like things that are rational. Except, what on earth is rational about me being in Thailand 5555

Director of National Vaccine Institute Nakorn Premsri said Wednesday Thailand will now join COVAX and apologized to the public for inadequately procuring vaccines for the country, saying the current situation was "unforseen."

So when push comes to shove Thailand can climb down and lose face. This could be a game changer for 6-12 months time  if covax comes up trumps.

Oh boy. Community Isolation centre sounds so much better than “non air conditioned room with cardboard beds.

Payute and the rest of his cronies plus one other should follow the Japanese bushido code and conduct it in public at the freedom monument and free the people of some a******s

I read somewhere that they are thinking of locking the country down in two months time, if things get worse. Surely now is the time to do it, or am I missing something?

Today there were 108 deaths in #Thailand

59 males & 49 females

2 foreigners died (1 Chinese & 1 Indian)

Median age is 66 (25-96 years)

Most deaths in Bangkok (40)

38% died in less than 6 days of diagnosis

30 were infected by family members

By my count, looks like new COVID deaths today in 25 different provinces.

Deaths by province, in addition to the 40 from Bangkok:

Samut Sakhon -- 13

Songkhla -- 7

Yala -- 6

Nakhon Pathom, Pathum Thani, Prachinburi - 4 each

Samut Prakan & Nakhon Nayok -- 3 each

Narathiwat, Pattani, Chonburi, Phetchaburi, Kanchanaburi, Ayutthaya, Roi Et -- 2

each

And then a bunch more with single deaths

BREAKING: Bangkok Governor has signed the order to close the following places from Friday: sports fields, golf courses, public parks, exhibition centres, art galleries, libraries, museums, childcare centres, beauty salons and barbers, tattoo parlours, and swimming pools.

Very disappointing.  If people can't exercise in parks, they'll run in the streets.  Or should they stay inside and not exercise at all?
