Popular Post bbabythai
With over 15,000 daily infections I'm starting to get worried about living here. We have a small business and there are no lockdowns yet in our city. But the way things are going this is probably going to happen. With the governments incompetent vaccine rollout and limited supply, I think the situation in Thailand is going to get worse. We must be heading towards 30k a day infections and steep rise in the death rate. Its the first time Ive ever thought that maybe I should take my wife and child back to the. mother country and wait this out. What I dont understand is why the Thai government didnt have the intelligence to pre-pay and mass order the vaccines back when western countries were doing this last yr. Absolutely useless bunch.... 13 1 5
Popular Post Doctor Tom
Depends very much on where your 'motherland' actually is. Some are worse than here, not many any better. As for the UK, my so called motherland, I would rather stick needles in my eyes than go back to that basket case of a country, covid notwithstanding. 17 2 3 5

It's natural to feel scared/worried, however you have to see through what they are saying, e.g. 15,000 per day doesn't mean that is 15,000 deaths per day, that is the number of people infected and most recover so don't allow the numbers to scare/worry you. If you are over 60 like me and have pre-existing conditions, now that could be cause for being scared/worried, however, if you are careful, are younger than 60 without pre-existing conditions, keep your distance from people, wear a mask, and wash your hands often you will more than likely be one of the 99% + I believe it is that will survive. We are all in the same boat, don't panic, if you are worried about catching Covid through the business and can afford to shut it down for a while, then do that if that makes you fee better. If I were you, I would show leadership as the head in the family, keeping the others calm and alert and updating them with information, positive information, including yourself, focus on the negatives and you will only cause more harm than necessary. Like I said, we are all in the same boat, don't panic, you can run, but you can't hide, Please read the very bottom and think about it for a minute or two. Popular Post Johnny Mac
Why start a new thread just to say this?? This could just be posted on one of the many covid threads already running? As for being 'worried' LOL. What would have you done in wartime if you were called up, if you're scared of this? I think I would query the intelligence of any nation that's economy is destroyed potentially by another country's arrogance, then sells them a reported sub standard vaccine that they have to buy another brand and then the first thing they want to do is invite them all back in again ! 9

Methinks governments are using it an as excuse to impose authoritarian controls on all the plebs, sorry population.........i somehow doubt the likes of Bill Gates will be asked to produce his 'stab certificate' mind you ???? Actually as regards the UK it depends on your education, background, energy and talent. For those and in fact millions of others, the UK is a remarkably attractive country. This is also the opinion of most Thais who have had the chance to travel or live there. I have never met a well adjusted Brit in Thailand who despises his mother country.Inevitably there are those (often slack jawed and tattooed) who bang on about immigrants and welfare spongers, and profess their love of Thailand. The trouble is they almost always have a fairly narrow understanding of their new country based on Pattaya, drinking and (inevitably) aching boredom in some Isaan village. 16 1 2

Heads swelling, no reason not to get back to usual pursuits; why not make some money on this vaccine stuff, and tie in a heartwarming national narrative to boot. Two birds with one stone. Unfortunately, the virus had other ideas. I do think it is going to get worse, just how much so remains to be seen. 5

Popular Post SCOTT FITZGERSLD
on the meantime, thailand is doing quite well, if to believe the numbers. 15,000 infected are not much for a 66 million country. you need to check the relative numbers to get the picture right. if you have good health insurance, you are ok in thailand. going back to the "motherland" will not help much
