If you require the non O and also annual extension then look at ~ 24k

ok let's say I've deposited this 800k for 2 months to get the non-0 retirement visa, I presume I can then transfer it all somewhere else for 12 months, then put another 800k in for the next time I need to extend the Visa?

That is not possible.

why not? how much can I take out a month then?

About 34k baht per month, retaining minimum balance of 400k. Likely it will be worth equivalent of 200k today, after the continuing baht crash. Maybe an agent is a good idea, if you can avoid holding much of a now plummeting currency. Som nam na for the wealthy indigenous elites here, who care not a jot for their own kind.

You have to keep the 800k baht for 3 months after the day you apply for the extension and then 400k baht until you top up your account to 800k baht 2 months before the next extension.

Thanks Joe, that's more based on fact than the bitterness I feel towards the disaster that is waiting to unfold here.

so i go in 1.9.21 and get stamp for one more month?

I use the Kamphaeng Phet Immigration office which is part of region5 from Chiang Mai. For the last couple of years I have been doing the marriage extension through monthly income.

Like you I get a 30 day "under consideration" notice but the IO there calls me on my mobile when it is ready. Perhaps they can do this as it is a small office, but if they don't call you, just go in on the 1.9.21 and they will finish the job, at no extra charge.

About 13k for an extension and not sure about the original non-o.  I usually just do it out of convenience but this year I live in am area without agents and have the money in a Thai account so will do it myself.

So I assume that you have met the financial requirements during current year to enable you to obtain your next extension.

Been busy with so many other things as of late, I really didn't give it any thought.  No I haven't I just realized - stupid!  Plan B - 555.  I'll have over 800k for 2 months but my balance has been under 400k for 7 months.   I assume I'll have to find an agent to workout the details.   forgot about the new rules and assume they ate being enforced in Jomtien and Ubon which are my two choices.

I wonder if it is even possible to travel out of province to Jomtien.  Have my  first Pfiser jab on 8/15 and should be fully vaccinated by 9/7 so maybe the trip will be possible.  Oh well - this one is on me!

They are not "new rules".

If you haven't met the financial requirements for extension (retirement) then your only option is agent.

Inter province travel is not really being restricted. There is a form to fill in and reason for travel' is optional.

Where are you obtaining your vaccination shot.

Interesting that's it's Pfizer and also that you can obtain second shot 9/7 as you indicated.

You mentioned regarding extension requirements that "I didn't really give it any thought" ......pretty strange in my thinking.

Yes, strange but true.  Always an easy process with agents.  Assumed I would be in Jomtien but the latest Covid wave has made that difficult. Just trying to get an understanding of my options and the rules are new to me.  I've used an agent the last 2 years and haven't been keeping up on visa regs.

Getting my vaccination shot in a small village east of Ubon.  The USA just donated 1.5 mil Pfizer shots and this may be the reason.  I was told initially Sinovac.  The second shots are schedule 3 weeks after the first.   My GF just got her second, and her sister 2 weeks ago.  Her Mom received her first last week.  All second shots scheduled 3 weeks after.

Will be amazed if you receive Pfizer. Time will tell.

As for your extension......you can travel for that unless to upgrade the travel restrictions. Has been some talk about that. Best to keep eye on Thai news re travel restrictions.

The doctor told a friend that  it is because I'm American ( Pfizer donation ).  I'll take any jab but Pfiser would be nice.  My GF got Sinovac followed by Astazeneca.  I didn't have high hopes that I would actually get vaccinated anytime soon but everybody here seem to be getting all shots as scheduled.  Now that the date is near, I would be bummed if I don't get the shot.

As you stated, time will tell.
